Ramstein Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Saitek X52 Pro and LockOn is giving me a hard time trying to map it out for LockOn:FC. I had a Saitek X36USB for 7 years, and had it mapped nicely. I notice that the LockON directories are setup for older version of Saitek Stick, but the latest code has not kept up. Is ED or anyone on the team going to help us with saitek X52 and X52 Pro sticks? Note: the X52 and X52 Pro stick profiles are not interchangalble. You cannot use an X52 profile in a X52 pro stick. I am also asking Saitek to make a utility to convert X52 profiles to X52 Pro. But, will LockOn:FC Black Hark give us any updates for the Saitek Sticks? BTW, I am using the ingame Joystick setup menu for commands. It has been tough so far. Sometimes I try to chage or enter a key or stick button command and the stupid window that open to chage or enter it only flahses and puts it's own number in there.... and bear in mind I have been flying this game since new, sonce the original LockOn came out several years ago. Thank you.. :joystick: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

I would make your own profile with the SST software. And, yes, programin it in lockon is difficult, every time you move the stick, even the slightest bit, it puts button 33 or 34 on there, which is really anoying. Just use the SST software. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Thank you.. :joystick: Sorry can't help. I got the x52 and had no problems with the SST profile program. Is there any similarities that you can retype to the new Pro profile. I have not seen it so I don't know if you can print out an x52 profile then retype the commands with what ever change has to be made to make it work. A lot of work if it can be done but you will have your profile. Lets hope someone in the forum has a Pro also and can share with you. Sorry I can't be of more help. Cheers.
gundelgauk Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 You really should use the SST software for as much as possible and only configure the axes and rotators in the game itself.
Ramstein Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 I made 4 profiles for the X52 Pro: 1) IL-2 profile, works for all versions up to the latest 1946. 2) LockOn:FC Profile 3) Falcon 4: Allied Force 4) Wings Over Vietnam (same profile as Strike Fighters, Wings Over Europe, First Eagles). I put them in 1 zip file: download the zip: just dump them into an empty directory and put them in your Saitek folder. http://virtualairforce.byethost11.com/files/022407_Saitek_X52Pro_Profiles.zip ------------------------ :joystick: ========= It takes several hours to make a profile,, and I am real tired from making a couple.. ------------- Note: These X52Pro Profiles don't work with the Saitek X52 non-pro and the non-pro profiles don't with with the pro, so don't bother trying.. so this just pertains to the X52 Pro stick.. :pilotfly: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR

Rikus Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 No problem with X52, it programs perfect. Many users with X52 PRO are getting mad!!! 0 points to Saitek and their poor drivers to PRO version. Greetings
Snacko Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Well, I agree that you should just make your own. You will get to know it better that way as well. I also agree that you should use the SST Software to map all of your 'buttons' on the stick. And use the game to assign and configure all of your Axis on the Joystick X/Y and Throttle Z, as well as the Throttle Rotaries, Slider, and maybe even the mouse stick if you want to use that for something. I believe this is how most users setup their HOTAS for sims like this.
