[REPORTED] landing with retracted nose gear

Hi,

 

Well, first of all congrats for the final release. It is a pleasure to fly the sabre.

 

I found a weird issue the other day. I deployed the landing gear and the front gear got stuck. I tried moving it up and down again but it got stuck up. I guess I deployed it when I was still flying too fast...

 

Anyway, when I landed it looked like the gear was half deployed. The nose of the plane was not touching the ground, as you can see in the image.

 

Is this a known issue?

I had this on my first post update flight, and I'm pretty sure it was simply that I deployed the gear at too high a speed. Made landing a lot of fun....right up to the bit where I ran into a surprisingly tough radio aerial and had the port wing ripped off.

Yes, but it doesn't make it less of a bug. The invisible landing gear shouldn't hold the nose! ;)

Nosewheel AWOL

 

Didn't see this on the thread titles, so...

 

Yesterday, landing in latest stable 1.55 release - on nosehweel touchdown just saw loads of sparks and the nose lower than it should be.

 

When I stopped the aircraft I switched to external and saw the image attached. Complete nosewheel missing, aircraft suspended above the surface.

 

No track as it was a circuit flown after the start-up tute.

I get this every time I accidentally jam the gear.

I had a mishap with nose gear - it didn't extend. Upon landing nose was left in the air, as if invisible half-extended nose gear was in place.

Have you seen this again, or do you have a track if this? I know its an old report, but trying to get these things caught up. Thanks!

It happens when the pilot lands too hard and the gear should you damaged. Instead, the nose gear vanishes and normally you see the main gear retract and the a/c continue to roll it and taxi off.

 

If you hit particularly hard the nose hits the ground and there is a fireworks display of sparks from the nose inside the cockpit as well.

 

It happens so frequently in MP servers from all the new guys who normally fly the Eagle or are converting from tail feathers that you forget this is not normal.
