Black_Hawk Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 As far as Tesla was concerned he was a citizen of the planet Earth 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Tesla was born at the time when nowadays Croatia was part of Austrian kingdom (Habsburg crown!?) and later Austro-Hungarian empire. So by citizenship, Tesla was Austrian until he moved to USA when he got his citizenship and became an American. Tesla’s father was Serbian priest (Serbian Orthodox church) and mother was Serbian as well. Ethnically, Tesla was Serbian. Geographically he lived in a part Austria, Austro-Hungarian empire, that is nowadays Croatia. Tesla himself always claimed to be a Serbian. I don’t know that he ever claimed to be Croatian. Also, his monument in the town of Gospić (nowadays Croatia) was destroyed and removed in early 1990’s. Only recently it was restored. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 No, he was not able to create ball lightnings and never intended to do so. He was researching new ways for wireless transmission of electrical energy.I am sure I read that Tesla could create “fire balls” with the energy from lightning. From what I remember, thоse were plasma balls (nuclear fusion). I read those books long time ago. Wireless electrical energy transmission was only one of the aspects of Tesla’s research. Tesla worked on turbines, resonant vibrations (Tesla calculated Earth vibration – frequency), AC motors, radio (voice) transmission and etc. Thermaltake Kandalf LCS | Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R | Etasis ET750 (850W Max) | i7-920 OC to 4.0 GHz | Gigabyte HD5850 | OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 2000 | 2 X 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD in RAID 0 | ASUS VW266H 25.5" | LG Blue Ray 10X burner | TIR 5 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Logitech G930 | Saitek Pro flight rudder pedals | Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

4c Hajduk Veljko Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I am equally proud of my Serbian mother and my Croatian homeland" --TESLAI don’t know if Tesla has ever said anything like that. Yugoslavia was under communism for almost a half a century. During that time Communists came up with all kinds of lies and, apparently, one of those is about Tesla saying about Croatian homeland. Croatia did not exist as a country at the time Tesla was born in that part of Austria, Austro-Hungarian empire. ED Team Groove Posted March 7, 2007 ED Team Posted March 7, 2007 Hajduk, i bet there is an RSK in your head too ? Sorry, but why couldnt you just write "Nikola Tesla" instead of Serbian Nikola Tesla ? Afaik there was no Serbian Empire when Tesla was born but the otoman empire. Wasnt 1867 Mihailo Obrenovic who liberated you from the Turks ? Tesla was born 1856 in Lika. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

I am sure that those who admired him set themselves a goal to bury all of his imperfections. On the other hand there were those who have done the exact opposite, often exaggerating the existing flaws and adding to them with lies to eradicate his presence in the science community. Sundowner.pl Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Back to the main topic, the FBW is pretty well shielded against static in western fighters, there are numerous cases when F-16s and F/A-18s were struck by lightnings with absolutely no effects. There are cases when pilots in F-16 were hit by lightnings thru the canopy and menage to bring jets back to base (there were two such cases, in one the pilot was a female), there is also a case when two F-15Es were struck by lightning nearly simultaneously with no effect - the lightning hit first jet radome, went out thru left vertical stabilizer, hit second jet to the radome and left thru wing - no negative effects. The problem is with bigger planes, some time ago B-52 was struck in the radome which caused a fire, in 60s and 70s few civilian airliners were downed by lightning strikes to the wings - resulting fire to the fuel stored there. Last western fighter downed by a lightning strike was a F-106 - pitot tube took the hit, the jet went down with pilot inside, since then no other wester fighter was lost by lighting strike. As for easter unfortunately I herd there were some issues with MiG-21s and 23s resulting some crashes, but I have no info on that. Pilotasso Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Being struck by lightning in midair is totaly different than being struck on the ground. It wouldnt matter if it was an F-22 it would still fry it. .
Sundowner.pl Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I'm talking only about midair lightning strikes. On the ground all planes are grounded, so no problem there. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "If a place needs helicopters, it's probably not worth visiting." - Nick Lappos
