Is there a roadmap or schedule for completion of the AV-8B that lets us know when the currently incomplete features are expected?

WAGS' F/A-18C livestream showed the Hornet already appears to have more Nav functionality than we enjoy, just wondering if there is a spot where we get a sense of what is coming and when?

Thanks but I had seen those, was more interested in a notional roadmap/schedule - if the Harrier remains in its' current state and the Hornet drops with more EA functionality as it appears from the livestream I am concerned the Harrier will just not get used or finished - and I really like it so just want to see RAZBAM be successful with it.

I don't think we'll ever see a timeline so the "What's missing" thread is the best thing available.

I agree the AV-8B development isn't moving all that quickly but judging by the lack of updates across the board recently, I suspect ED are allowing the deployment of bug fixes only until they can fix the major 2.5 issues. I expect module development is continuing, the updates just aren't being rolled out to the beta build to avoid conflicts.

Disclaimer - I just made all of that up, Razbam could just be doing Scrooge McDuck dives into the piles of money they made from the early access. :music_whistling:

RAZBAM did a rough timeline with the M2000C and people tore them up every time something came up that delayed the schedule.

The Hornet is developed by ED... The AV8B by Razbam......

There are unrelated in their development sir.

I think the point they are trying to make is a product that isn’t even released in early access has many more items completed over something that has been in early alpha for a long time. Regardless of who is developing the airframe.

Personally I think ED should have requirements for minimum systems being modeled (cough cough radios) prior to something being released as early alpha.

Well said Snoopy thank you. ED should run as a way to protect the brand for 3rd Dev's. At least a letter or notification. I have been spoiled as of late from the constant ED emails and updates and actually enjoy them more than I have thought I initially would.

Agree on radios / DMT bound to axis (without TPOD). Weapon Release spacing. Items that already core in the game engine and not new.

Cheers

I disagree. I think as long as the developer is forthright with what is missing or not complete, you can decide to buy when it makes sense for you.

As is your right. But without standards (aka you gotta meet minimum requirements to be a 3rd party dev) you’ll only get confusion and mediocre early access releases.

And for clarification I am not saying the Harrier is mediocre, although IMO it appears that development is slowed to a snales pace.

If that was the case we wouldn't see the F-18 until next year. No ground radar & only dumb bombs/rockets? If anyone shouldn't be releasing early it is ED.

That being said I can't wait for the F-18. Even better the F-14 which sounds further a long than both.

As the OP and coming back to this - I was not complaining and as a long time Star Citizen backer am totally used to the 'Beta' or Early Access state, I was only asking if there was a development roadmap.

I also am aware that there are different companies invovled between Hornet and Harrier and I am also aware that the guys who do the 3D modeling are, typically, not the same guys who code moving maps for example.

I can understand being hesitant to do so if the Mirage was an issue, that was before I found DCS so not something I am really aware of but I can understand that as a reason to not want to make even a notional roadmap public.

It was intended as a simple question and the answer appears to be that the development plan for Harrier is not shared with the public, which is fine, was really only asking if there was one thinking I might have missed it being I only came to DCS a couple months ago.
