The metashader issue has been identified by the ED team

 

Moving DCS out of Program Files (x86) folder to a different location will fix this issue as a work around

 

A fix will be in the next patch

Hello,

I keep getting crashes after downloading 2.5.1 openbeta while trying to enter a server or mission editor. The crash happens on all maps while loading the first .ref file.

Things I've tried already which didn't help:

- deleting the contents of metashader folder

- repairing my install through Steam

I havent done a repair yet, if possibel i am tryign to avoid doing a delete reinstall

please ensure if you have any unofficial mods you have removed them and run a cleanup and repair for stand alone or verified the integrity in steam

MetaShader build error

 

I'm getting an error message and crash every time i try to start a mission, it's a wall of text so see attached image.

 

Anyone run into this before and know a fix?

Integrity check pulled two files but I still have the same crash when opening a map of any kind

thanks guys I have pointed ED in this direction.

 

I know it does not help but I am not seeing this myself, and other testers did not see this during internal tests.

 

Have a look at my crash advice, do a clean DCS.openbeta saved games folder and a cleanup and repair to rule out any config issue.

Ok

 

the team have a theory, if you had deferred shading disabled we need to re-enable it

 

find your options.lua

 

C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config

 

edit this line so it has the 1

 

	["useDeferredShading"] = 1,

 

or delete your options.lua and restart DCS and redo your settings

Unfortunately no result here with the attemp BIGNEWY. For myself atleast. Tried editing the .lua and then deleted option.luas as well recieveing the same message still.

The deferred shading option has gone from my settings there is no option to turn it off or on

Just updated Nvidia drivers to newest version. MetaShader error still present.

 

Tried deleting fxo and metashader fodlers as well after GPU driver update.
