New texture loader Unloads ground, cockpit, aircraft, and weather

Recommended Posts

Ontop of steam users not being able to use the Open beta due to meta shader issues without relocating their DCS Installs, the New texture manager unloads ground, Weather, cockpit, aircraft external, and unit textures after spending about 30 or so seconds in the F10 Map, leading to a massive lagspike and subsequent disconnect from multiplayer servers, and a crash on singleplayer while attempting to reload everything. a tweak to limit unloading to only AI Ground vehicles and unloaded/not within load range AI/Non player vehicles would do it some good.

Pentium G4560, GTX 1050Ti, 20GB's total, 1x16GB Kingston Hyper X, And a 1x4GB Avexir Core Series kit, fleamarket mouse/keyboard, i swear it works fine :megalol:

Also unloads the internal cockpit textures when switching to the external F2/F7 views, so when switching back to the cockpit F1 view, I get a blank/black cockpit just like on first loading in.

I'm also seeing more stutters/micro freezes than in 2.5.0

Note: the increased stutters/micro freezes I've seen in 2.5.1 might have been because I added a preload of each Gazelle variant, so 4 uncontrolled AI Gazelles. Removing them seems to have removed the micro freezes but will need to test further.

Tested in 2.5.1.16543 with AV-8B and SA-342Mistral/Minigun

I have the same issue, when switching views I get black cockpits, black aircraft skins, it takes a few seconds to reload the textures. Seems an optimisation trade-off: freeing up memory creates I/O bottlenecks.

And people who didn't need memory optimisations in the first place (those with 32+ GB of RAM) also suffer from it, creating a worse experience compared to 2.5.0 instead of a better one...
