toutenglisse Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 If you are shot at in BVR, pulling G's left/right/left/etc.… kills your energy… but also the energy of the missile coming at you, that changes direction with even more amplitude, falling short in the end.
Boogieman Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 (edited) Don’t buy the Hornet then :joystick: Of course - I'm jokingly referencing Eagle/Mirage drivers (mostly) ;) That said I can see a few scenarios in the Hornet where you're at high speed in BVR and might want to use a single ~9G pull for defensive purposes. They would be rare though I suspect. Edited May 6, 2018 by Boogieman

Yep, but at BVR range, doing it at 6G works fine and you can keep your energy, so you can escape follow on shots. Yet, at closer range I agree, pull everything you can  Edited May 6, 2018 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! toutenglisse Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 C'est pas faux ! I agree with that, number of G's doesn't really matter for "working" on an incoming fox1/fox3.
wilbur81 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 (edited) Was flying the hornet after today's update and, with 9600 lb of fuel, clean except for pylons and cannon rounds...the FCS had me limited to 7g. Normal for that weight in fuel? Edited January 30, 2019 by wilbur81 i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
