If you are shot at in BVR, pulling G's left/right/left/etc.… kills your energy… but also the energy of the missile coming at you, that changes direction with even more amplitude, falling short in the end.

Of course - I'm jokingly referencing Eagle/Mirage drivers (mostly) ;) That said I can see a few scenarios in the Hornet where you're at high speed in BVR and might want to use a single ~9G pull for defensive purposes. They would be rare though I suspect.

Yep, but at BVR range, doing it at 6G works fine and you can keep your energy, so you can escape follow on shots.

 

Yet, at closer range I agree, pull everything you can :thumbup:

Was flying the hornet after today's update and, with 9600 lb of fuel, clean except for pylons and cannon rounds...the FCS had me limited to 7g. Normal for that weight in fuel?
