Considering the feedback on here relating to the performance of the beta version, and some modules in fact, it would be useful guide if promotional videos were to display the spec of the machine running them and even better the key performance data in real time and graphics option settings too?

YT streams usually show the data, Wags machine is listed, the info is all around actually.

Yeah, it's gonna kill some sales if you put a sticker on it "4+GHz_6+Core_16GB_SSD_GTX1060+"

and that will not even carry you all the way, no machine or GPU right now can max out DCS at WQHD or even 4k. A single 1080ti has 50-100fps on WQHD.

VR ?? :music_whistling:

The actual DCS-Rig has yet to be released.

I was watching the F18 promo video yesterday, which looks amazing, almost film like. I wondered if it was being run on the recommended spec machine or something better; and what the graphics settings are needed to look as good and smooth running as that?

I couldn't see anything in the description or comments below.

Many videos are recorder with half a time and the result is very smooth (for sure not stream), so dont trust always the picture what You see ;).

Always assume max settings, and probably down scaled resolution for trailers, so rendered in 1440p or 2160p maybe, and down scaled to 1080p for best visuals. And to achieve that at a constant 60 fps, a beast is required. They wanna show all the candy, cause it sells. All developer / publishers do. Heck all products.

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

Perhaps true. I can't see any jagged edges on the trailer, so god knows what AA is being used, certainly not WYSIWYG on the recommended level machine.

Thing is consumer trust is a fragile thing!
