Bananimal Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Lots of random crashes since 2.5.2 OB was released. Usually happen just after take off. Sometimes I can fly for an hour. Running the latest Nvidia drivers installed clean using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) app. Game is set to run at 4k 4x AA and 16x AF in game. I only use nVidia Inspector to force SLI. ___________________________ Bananimal's DCS Mods and Skins

Bananimal Posted June 1, 2018 Author Posted June 1, 2018 Nope. Didn't solve the problem. Did as instructed, as I had already done this. Clean and repaired game, metashader2 and fxo folders deleted and the game still crashes. Would love to get you another log file but I cannot. The game if frozen solid. Had to reboot my PC once already. Keep in mind, I didn't have these issues with 2.5.1. Same setup, same settings. There's something wrong in this release. ___________________________ Bananimal's DCS Mods and Skins
HawgDawg4Life Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION issues Also seeing an increase in the number of crashes related to C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATIONs from various DLL's. D3D11.DLL being on of them as well as EDTERRAIN4.DLL and others. Have had 6 this month, 3 last month, 3 the month prior... Is there a fundamental issue with the NVIDIA drivers? I am using the 1070 from NVIDIA. HawgDawg4life of MSFlights.net [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BitMaster Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 did you install the 3D-Stereo(?) part of the Nvidia drivers ? I never do so and also never had this error. Maybe worth a look. * I usually run all drivers as soon as they come out, some bug and BSOD but never had that specific error, luckily. nessuno0505 Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 No problems with 2.5.2, nvidia 1070 latest driver and 3d stereo installed.

Hardcard Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) Also seeing an increase in the number of crashes related to C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATIONs from various DLL's. D3D11.DLL being on of them as well as EDTERRAIN4.DLL and others. I was getting lots of access violations too, which caused DCS to either crash or fail to launch, especially the edterrain4.dll one (although I remember getting the D3D11.dll error too at some point). Fully reinstalled DCS several times, but files were constantly getting corrupted during installation. Turns out that the last Windows 10 update had apparently messed up my windows installation, I had to repair it by running the following commands in cmd (admin): DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth ...and then run: sfc /scannow Also, the NTFS partition in my gaming SSD (which contained DCS) was apparently causing trouble, which didn't disappear by simply formatting it. I had to perform a wipe (secure erase) of my SSD, reflash firmware and create a brand new NTFS partition (this new partition didn't use all the available SSD space, I left 3GB out of it). I then installed DCS World 2.5.2 open beta again and I've had no more trouble since. Btw, I also removed all antispyware software from my system (don't trust exclusion lists, tbh) and made sure that I had full permissions for DCS folders. Also, I made sure that I had ALL the VC++ Redist packages installed (from 2005 to 2017, both 32 and 64 bit versions.) I hope this helps Edited July 28, 2018 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
fl0w Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Ran that snippets of code that you just posted. It seemed to have worked all great and well, but then as soon as I re-opened DCS, I got the usual crash... :( I have tried, repairing, deleting graphic DLLs that DCS were complaining about, re-booted the PC, checked drivers, checked Windows 10 version for an update, and yet I am still not sure why but will not work. I can't even play my game at all, it crashes as soon as DCS loads up. EDIT: Not trying to hijack this thread, but I believe that DanielNL might have found us a temporary solution. Try re-naming the DCS folder in your Saved Games, which may be causing file corruption. If his post otherwise gets any updates, I will post it here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=216550 Edited July 29, 2018 by Sirius

Check your drive. In my case it was the freaking SSD partition that gave me grief. Problems didn't get sorted until I performed a wipe and created a new NTFS partition, as I mentioned. AMD drivers also seem to conflict with DCS, btw. Don't include DCS.exe to AMD gaming profiles, otherwise it'll give a d3d11.dll access violation (at least that's what happens when I do it).
