saturated colours

Hello everybody,

 

 

Since 2.5, I find that the colours are quite saturated. It's especially noticeable on the TAD page of the A10C, but I also find that the grass is "very" green, maybe a bit too much to my taste. Is it intended or is there a problem on my end? I tried deleting the options.lua plus fxo and shaders folders but nothing changed.

 

 

This is my cockpit for the first instant action in the A10C, do the colours look right to you guys?

Depends on time of day and season and probably weather as well.

i brought this up a few months ago too,

way to candy and saturated to look realistic, i would like to have a "saturation slider available" or more natural colours.

especially in VR (rift) its not possible to do this on the device side

I think you're right, in the instant action mission during winter the TAD looks a bit better, but still saturated. And I don't want to constantly fly in winter :)

Unfortunately, that's just how 2.5.xx looks in general. Apart from using Reshade, there's no way to tweak midday colours to more reasonable levels.

Oh well, that's fine then, I was just worried there might be something wrong with my settings or setup. I can live with it, it's the only downside I've found to the otherwise amazing 2.5 version of DCS!

IMO DCS has always been way too saturated, specialy the Terrains/Maps or should i sy all that has trees and vegetations.

It also depends on monitor. In my case I found the colors to be too washed out until I changed my monitor.

Agreed, but as a computer artist, my screens are far from being that off, if not, photo retouching would be bad. :)

Much also depends on how you have your screen calibrated.

Its the same way in VR. I really love the amount of extra detail that has been added over the past few months in the Beta, but that whole "deferred shading" thing has taken the overall realism of the colors a few steps in the wrong direction. Also, in the middle of the day, I shouldn't be able to see flashing reflections of wingtip sttrobes on the ground or bouncing off every surface in the cockpit. These things are a couple of the main reasons I elected to not install the latest update to my release version that I have in parallel with the Beta, so I'm not stuck in cartoon land. The performance has gotten a lot better though, and so have the textures of ground objects and terrain. Hopefully they'll continue working on tweaking the colors and lighting as well.
