Great screenies, just pity there's no explanation of what-is-what.

Here you go.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

One thing - can the visualisation of the pilot's torso or arms be turned on & off - because I think it's good to have the model there, but aren't the Gauge/Panel illumination, Ekran warning system, Engine controllers, UV-26 PCS etc switches all behind the model's right arm/shoulder

Cheers.

I always asked myself why people are saying this... in real life the hand would be in the same place and you would have to move it away to see/operate the things beneath it.

I think the presence of the pilot in the cockpit adds a big plus to immersion. Now we will see less virtual pilots saying after a P/K in cockpit: "Oh.... my pilot is dead"... they'll say: "I'm dead" :D .

This problem of not seeing beneath the arms can be solved in virtual world by few methods:

- in case of keyboard corespondent button press the arm could have an animation in which it operates that button.

- in case of clickable cockpit the arms can be atached to the cursor (or even replacing it with the index finger) and they could be animated to reach the buttons in natural manner. Like, if you press a button normaly operated by right hand and you then move to press one operated by the left, the left hand would take the place. Could be fun to watch a hand swaping on the flight controls when in mid air :) .

- two simple keyboards commands: "raise left hand" and "move away right arm" that will do just that so you can take a glimpse at the gauges

- 6DOF and you look arround most of teh body :)

Personaly I think an empty cockpit looks like a museum.

Because:

the Gauge/Panel illumination, Ekran warning system, Engine controllers, UV-26 PCS etc switches are all behind the model's right arm/shoulder

Which would make the full clickable cockpit ramp start imposible if you can't get his arm & shoulder out of the way.

I agree it's nicer to have the pilot there, & that there are a number of ways you could theoretically get him out of the way, but what I'm asking how do you ACTUALY get him out of the way to get to some of the necessary switches ?

From this

Actually, that's what LUA scripts are for
I take it that you can decide to have him showing or not, I just thought it might be possible to toggle him (at least the arms & shoulders - back to what you see in FC) in & out with a keystroke.

Cheers.

I personally like it how it was shown in the vid. Having the leds that actually move this time will add alot. I think the 6DOF will takecare (atleast for TIR users) to the "real sensation" of being the pilot.

Just my 2 cents
