Autopilot question: How to engage Altitude Hold?

On the UFC, I can activate ATTH mode. But clicking on the select button for BALT or RALT does not display the colon. Is that a bug, or am I missing something. I was in level flight when I tried.

I had to set a deadzone of 1 in Axis Tune. Your stick has to be PERFECTLY centered for it to engage.

:) thank you, didnt remember that .. made me proud of my TM Cougar, as the AP has been working fine on my rig with 0 deadzone on both X and Y axes (and 0 curve too, since I prefer a linear feeling)

What to do if it's completely missing? Shot is old by now, but I still see this every now and then, so I stopped caring about using the ALT APs at all.

 

That ADV-BIT is due to switching off and on the ALE since I've accustomed myself to disabling RWR on ground when possible just to have at least 5 minutes of tranquility when operating military aircraft

 

Not doing so doesn't make a difference

Thanks for that advice. It works for me now. I was spoiled by the A-10C where you only need to be close to level flight when you engage the AP in Altitude/Heading mode.
