Flagrum Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Show the weights of things we put on an aircraft! Ideally, show the weight already in the popup menu where we select the weapons per pylon. But also display the current weight of each pylon beneath the aircraft schematic. Provide sums for each wing and total. Maybe show several lines benath the aircraft schematic to separate sub-totals for the different types of equipment, like tanks, A2A ordnance, A2G ordnance and "other".
feefifofum Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Interesting thought. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
dmatsch Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 It would also be nice to have a quick link to the encyclopedia so we know what kind of weapons we're loading, and if any pods have to go with them. I keep forgetting what the differences are between all the Russian ordnance.
derodo Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 The quick link to the encyclopedia would be nice. +1 to both things :P
Alpenwolf Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 +1 to all the above. Great ideas! HACA DYCA Discord Cold War 1947 - 1991 You can help me with keeping up the server via PayPal donations: hokumyounis@yahoo.com
RED Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 +1 and also add functions that are currently only available in SP like rocket ripple/single(18) as well as all the functions that need to be changed through the kneeboard like the laser code for GBU-12s(F5). The performance data for the specific load out would be handy, too (T/O distance, asymmetric trim for launch,...)

joca133 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 +1, especially the encyclopedia. I can live with calculating individual weights by adding one at a time, but wish it was optimized as suggested. But I think the encyclopedia is useless and more of an annoyance than anything. Everytime I want to check on a wepon info I am sure it will not be there, or it will be missing specific informations (AIM 9L vs P vs X etc).
Eldur Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 (edited) +1 Also, I remember Lock On having a balance gauge in there, I definately wouldn't mind having it back since it definately helps trying to balance out things like the TGP (A-10C, F/A-18C L20) or some ECM pods that you don't bring two of (AJS 37). I can also emphasize the need for some general information at least. Just try to find out what the difference between the CBU-99 and Mk.20 or the LAU-68 and LAU-131 is since they behave exactly the same each respectively. Knowledge is power and even Google doesn't know everything. And not every thread asking for data is being spotted by that one guy who just know it by chance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another thing that would be great would be a more modular approach to the whole thing. Example: You put 4 SUU-63A pylons on the Hornet. Then you select to take the BRU-33 adapter. On those you put 2x the LAU-61 launcher each. You chose to take the 2.75" rockets with Mk. 66 mod 4 motor. Selected warhead is M151 HE. Maybe even let us chose a mix (remember that being possible in an Apache sim 20 years ago) and the actual count of rockets. Yeah, that's more things to select - but - if the devs just decide to put a new warhead in, they won't have to redo the whole thing, just a part of it. So it will be a better approach in the background. Also, we could just create a flight of planes in a mission that just did their job and hasn't dropped their empty pods yet. Would be totally impractical to model empty launchers just for that, a modular approach instead would just get it by the way. Also, regarding FM everything could be coded just for a specific part and we wouldn't end up having strange happening like this. Edited August 16, 2018 by Eldur
