GGTharos Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 THey're using the pastel which likely integrates with the MFDs. It's a pity we can't see a display - we have to make guesses as to what it looks like. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
RvETito Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 No wonder, the single Yak-141 has been more or less a technological demonstrator, pretty advanced one btw. It certainly doesn't have almost any combat systems onboard. I guess it doesn't even have a radar. Shame for such a great plane... "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=

You mean this MFD has different modes, and one mode is for a SPO? Because I've found no display with SPO's indicators...

Geier Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Yeah, too bad its development was so delayed. It would have given a purpose to those Kiev-class carriers. As I remember, it was created for Kuznetsov/Varjag carriers - along with Su27K and Mig29K
vistrel Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 One thing I'd like to see changed is the ugly blue cockpit color. Warning: The following might cause stupidity http://youtube.com/watch?v=25LceCPO1ys
Force_Feedback Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Still the 'old' HUD symbology, no fpm, nag nag. Why do you think a fpm is better than all the seperate parameters? I mean it's better to know the seperate parameters than to have some computed vector. Ofcourse adding a fpm is a piece of cake, but it seems to clash with the design philisophy or training routines. So the 5th gen plane will have some multi-core linked network architecture, about time. Oh well, at least we'll see it on the latest Chinese fighter ~1 year after the first MFI prototype takes flight :s Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

AFAIK, the small middle indicator was originally planned as a digitial RWR display, but eventually became a multi-functional display instead. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. FAIK, the small middle indicator was originally planned as a digitial RWR display, but eventually became a multi-functional display instead. At 14:24 (& a few times before that) there's a closeup of that smaller central display & extreme bottom right of that display there's a small plane with circles arranged around it very much like the RWR display we're familiar with. Perhaps there is a constant minimal display even while other functions are set as primary. Cheers.
ФрогФут Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 AFAIK, that's not Su-27SM by the way. That's Su-35, as it's said in the video. "Я ошеломлён, но думаю об этом другими словами", - некий гражданин Ноет котик, ноет кротик, Ноет в небе самолетик, Ноют клумбы и кусты - Ноют все. Поной и ты.
