I believe that only major ABs in the map should have hangar of such size, airbases supposed to host large transport planes and bombers. There should be no more than 1 Hangar at each airbase. Having too many would result with large FPS impact on older rigs and wouldn't look reallistic. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

There are some things to consider however. : - will the object size cause problems for taxiing AI (note wingspan)? - Is the obect suitable for all situations (can any plane park in the hangar) - how about IRL situation - does the object look good (also in relation to other objects) In case of Tomcatz' hangar you can see in the screenshot (were I put the hangar in the scenery file) that my first point allready comes up. I agree that we don't have a dozen of these hangars on a small airbase, but such a hangar is seldom seen alone. Another 'problem' is that some objects are only seen if other files beside the scenery file are modified. The first is structtable.sht (objects willl otherwise not be visible) but some addon objects also need modifications in the meinit.xml and grafics.cfg. Since these files are frequently modified by other mods or by hand, it will undoubtedly cause for some obejcts to become unvisible again. SuperKungFu Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 I believe any planes can fit into the large hanger, i placed a tu-160 and a B-52, i believe those 2 are the largest in lock on and they both fit perfectly without the wings going into the walls. The big hanger, imho, should only be a few of them thoughout the lock on map. Only in those large AB. In any case, i think you should get in contact with tomcatz and see if he would give you the smaller hanger without any flags or insignias. I believe the screens posted by viper shows the smaller hanger can be placed on those dry patches of area around the airbase like this? It would be nice if the small hanger can go over that area. And there's not a lot of them at each AB so it would be perfect. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

IRL there are no such trees blocking the towers view over the airfield (maybe some imrovised open field bases for Frogs, Choppers or Harriers... ;) ). ATM it's the only reason why I uninstalled the mod. I hope you agree to that point. Copy on the suggested postition. crazyeddie Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Just what I did, 2 towers, and loads of other stuff including the tall cranes, bigger hangars, Clinic, Radio Masts, various Blocks of flats in the town near to the bases etc etc. I simply changed loads of the objects in the Mission Builder around to give me about 30 new basic objects I could add to an air base, some of the towns look a bit odd in places doing it that way but it's the air bases I wanted to enhance. Get rid of things like the blockouses, road blocks, small huts, small garages, oil derrick etc and change them for whatever you want to use, keep them to roughly the same sizes, its not perfect but it's one solution to the mission builder problem. I would post some dowloands but the changes I have made are huge, aircraft textures and loadouts etc - I have India and Pakistan in my game - again I simply changed the country details in the ME Files and created some new flags. Kutznetzov is now the new Indian Carrier flying the Mig 29's. Moscow becomes INS Delhi, it just needs some texture changes and a little imagination. Plus the stuff coming out from guys like Teka Teka. It's a compromise - and it keeps me amused. I Love this sim, best there is.

This is caused by the fact that the ammo-dump and comm-center allready excist in my scenery files !
