cool_t Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hey, all hi!! Can some one please program the shock wave "Visual" Mach +1 +2 ect. :pilotfly: 1
nscode Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 eeeerrr.... no :D 1 Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Disso Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 suuuuuuure, no problem! 1 SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
PythonOne Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Yet another farfetched idea by the infamous cool_t….tisk tisk tisk 2
Colt40Five Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I'd be happy if they just fixed it so that the cockpit doesn't go all silent when you go supersonic... 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Disso Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 You can fix that yourself by turning down the engine volume slider. That'll make it more like you're actually wearing the earplugs and helmet, and there won't be a big change when you go supersonic. :smilewink: He wants it to NOT be silent when you go supersonic. 1 SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
SuperKungFu Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 I'm not sure if this would work, just throwing this idea out there, but if you really want to remove the supersonic cockpit sound "bug," then how about editing the supersonic sound file in the effects folder and make it sound consistent with the regular (below supersonic) sound. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rogue_blade Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 wait theres another visible cue at mach 2? 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
britgliderpilot Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 wait theres another visible cue at mach 2? No. The cone cloud should be visible any time the shockwave is present (I'm not certain whether a full supersonic shockwave should trigger it . . . only seem to get these shots very briefly) and atmospheric conditions permit it. It's not an infrequent occurrence for carrier-based aircraft or those flying very low and fast over the water . . . . but it's completely out of place for aircraft flying at high altitude over land, so in order to do it properly such an effect would very rapidly get very complicated. If ED were to model any form of condensation, LERX vortices would be the obvious one . . . . has an obvious use in a sim in that it shows you how hard your opponent is trying. Doubt it'll happen in any form, though. Allowing a moment of fantasy, though, seeing the tip vortices from a hovering Ka50 in damp air would just be spectacular ;) 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg

Hmmm that might work...assuming there's a blank sound file that is switches to. I can't find it though so I'm assuming that it doesn't play a quiet 'supersonic' file, it just stops playing the engine sounds file... 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Weta43 Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 I've never noticed any replacement sound, if you turn off the AB you just get wind, but maybe you could merge the wind & engine sounds, & turn the engine sound down - but not off - so that you still get the audio cue of engine spooling up & down. Engine sound at rest & taxi etc Engine sound + combined engine & wind below M1 Combined wind & engine above M1 Would mean that if you lost both engines you'd still have engine noise though. 1 Cheers.
Pilotasso Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 COol T has a strange sense of humour :D in TS he sounds perfectly like a regular nice guy, but on the forums he is very different. You couldnt recognize the person who talks to you in the TS here in the forums. .
cool_t Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 LOL guys Come on it would be just alittle bit more iceing on the cake. Shock wave, please! :helpsmilie:
