Angustino Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Hi and a happy new year. I have a problem with my Rift. At first everything worked flawless but since yesterday I am not able to see the DCS Menu on startup. Recentering the camera does not help. I reinstalled both DCS and the Oculus software. Thanks for any advice!
dburne Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 You are not trying to launch DCS from the Oculus Home shortcut in VR are you? Make sure to launch it from your desktop shortcut. That will happen with DCS if you try to launch from within Oculus Home. Angustino Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 No. I´ve been launching it from my Desktop.
dburne Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 When you say re-centering the camera, are you talking in game ( VR-Re-center), or in the Oculus Home software? Angustino Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 I mean repositioning the camera in DCS pressing 5 on numpad.
dburne Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I mean repositioning the camera in DCS pressing 5 on numpad. You might try assigning VR Re-Center to a button in the UI layer of the controller menu. It is down toward the bottom below the module listings. May just do the same, but worth a shot to try. Angustino Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 If I can´t open the menu in the first place, I can´t change any keybindings or can I?
toutenglisse Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Angustino could you post a screenshot so we can see what you see when you are in DCS in VR ? Screenshots are stored there : C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ScreenShots
Headwarp Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 are you making sure to click the DCS window and it being the selected program on your desktop before pressing buttons? easy mistake to make. Angustino Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 are you making sure to click the DCS window and it being the selected program on your desktop before pressing buttons? easy mistake to make. Yeah. Pressing 5 does reset the view. But no sign of the menu.
Headwarp Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 (edited) Yeah. Pressing 5 does reset the view. But no sign of the menu. open windows explorer and navigate to C:\users\xxxx\saved games\DCS World\config xxxx being your computer user name, and then drag the input folder to like the desktop and copy or move. then delete the config folder all together, and launch dcs. It will recreate the config folder and you'll have to set your graphics and audio settings up again. Before confirming setting changes drag your backup input folder back into the new config folder, and then apply your new settings which should restart, and your controls should be as you left them. Could be an error in a .lua file or something that resetting your graphics options this way could fix. Angustino Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Did what you told me to do. It doesn´t recreate the Input folder again. No menu is showing.

I gave you directions for backing up your input folder and putting your backup input folder back into your new config folder 0.o Hopefully you haven't emptied your recycle bin yet. If not you can recover your keybinds. Only other options are - windows updates, driver updates, DCS Repair which can be done from the start menu, dcs cleanup which will remove any mods if any were installed, or outdated files. Angustino Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Ahhh...bit of a derp on my side. Yes this worked. Thanks to everyone who tried to help!
BitMaster Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Recentering in Oculus or in DCS via GUI control ? This is same what mine looks like before I hit the button on my Hotas to centre myself. Make sure you set a key or button in DCS for this, not in Oculus etc. This way it also doesnt matter if your Oculus sensors are properly set, I plug them on the desk, hit centre and play...works flawless. This " Setup your Oculus.." is a PITA which i dont do anymore.
