Vinny002 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hi, guys! Question for you, since the F-14 have a top of about Mach 2.3 or about 1,500 miles per hour at an altitude of about 36,000 to 38,000 feet MSL I am wondering if the F-14 can get up to the edge of space like the Russian mig-29 does? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
Victory205 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Sure, NASA’s Hoot Gibson landed on the Moon in an F14D in 2003, they just kept it quiet because it was unauthorized in their budget. Don’t tell anyone. Fly Pretty, anyone can Fly Safe.

Cheers, Vincent The Karman line is usually used as defining where space begins, I don't think any aircraft can get even close to almost that high. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%A1rm%C3%A1n_line

I live over 1000km from an ocean but using this marketing I could list my house as being a short drive from the ocean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
turkeydriver Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 He's referring to the high altitude flights you can purchase in a MiG-29 where the sky is black- its up around 70k. To answers the OP's question, I would say the MiG-29 has a higher altitude being lighter than the F-14 but I'm sure you could get an insane zoom climb at Mach 1.8 at 35k ft VF-2 Bounty Hunters https://www.csg-1.com/ DCS F-14 Pilot/RIO Discord: https://discord.gg/6bbthxk
Eldur Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 The Truth Is Out There. Clearly photoshopped. The original photo had a La-5FN in it. Was there back in the early 2000s... Probably will be trying to get up high and stuff when we'll get the module. Probably goes higher than a MiG-29...
