I am about to buy my 1st gaming pc ever to just play dcs and heatblur's f-14.

 

 

The gentleman I am buying the pc from build gaming pc's so it brand new. Here are the specs

He is letting me have the build for 750 is it a good deal, or will the pc be to underpowered

 

 

 

Comes with a 2yr parts and labor warranty. Will this pc be able to run dcs and heatblur f-14 on high the guy building the pc said yes he will download dcs world and run it for me before I handover the cash ?

 

 

If everything looks good I want to buy this

The 1070 is a great DCS 1080p GPU , good at 1440p , and most would say , the minimum for VR

My Rift settings with a 1070 GPU :

 

All textures low

Visibility medium (The second-lowest of 5 levels)

Civilian traffic low

Water medium

Heat blur/motion blur off (haven't tested on)

Cockpit shadows flat

Terrain shadows off

Grass/clutter 750

Trees 50%

Chimney smoke off

Preload about 3/4 to the right

PD 1.3

MSAA 2x

Fps locked to 45 , ASW off .

 

AMD CPU's not so good for DCS , which needs single-threaded performance . This chart shows relative performance , FX-8350 is a LONG way down .

DDR3 is last generation , most builds now clock 1.5-2× faster .

 

It is actually not a bad deal , for 1080p , but has little potential for upgrading and VR

You would basically buy stuff that is years old.

 

 

Do not buy that, honestly, you would regret it as soon as you are more into DCS and computing.

 

 

 

Try to get it somehow like this:

 

change CPU to AMD Ryzen-5 with the fastest clocks you can afford, clock speed goes over core count, heck, they all have at least 6 cores anyway, so aim for a Ryzen-5 1600X or the newer Ryzen-2 equivalent. Get a matching board along with the DDR-4 RAM.

 

The rest of your PC sounds fair to me, maybe the PSU could be a 650 or 750w unit with at least 80-Plus Gold or better. It will not pay out to cut corners on the PSU.

 

1070 is ok for 1440p, for VR I am not si sure, my 1080ti still struggles...so YMMV.

 

 

Again, dont buy that old crap AMD CPU, that was a big mistake

well I had a good friend of mine build a pc, I am running 32 gigs of ram, msi motherboard,AMD Ryzen7 2700X Nividia GTX1070 are the basic specs. He did the build for me total cost $900. I am playing the game on high settings, getting 120 fps so far. Using a HP 25F full HD monitor, waiting for thurstmaster T1600m FCS HOTAS+ TWCS Throttle to come in the mail got it for 70 buck off flea bay

Glad that you avoided purchasing the old AMD FX series, its not very common to see people came back and give an epilog to this type of query :) I’m sure you will enjoy the Ryzen much better. Cheers.

I’m fixing to build a pc for vr simming its going to have the following itemsvat a minimum

 

Intel i9-9900x cpu

Evga 2080 ti pbu 11gb vram

32 go ddr4 ram

1tb nmve m.2 ssd x2

1tb ssd x3

4tb wd red hdd

Liquid cooling

Tower case

1000 watt psu

 

The mb is the one intell recommends for this cpu
