Sparky1b09 Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Does anyone know if there is a way to categorize the pages in the kneeboard? I created a few pages and added them to my kneeboard. But there are so many airport pages that it gets to be a chore going through the pages and would like to somehow make it so I didn't have to go through all those pages if I'm looking for something else. Thanks.
Zyll Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 You can delete the Caucasus airport kneeboards. They are under mods/terrains iirc.
Rudel_chw Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Does anyone know if there is a way to categorize the pages in the kneeboard? Not really categorize, but there is a certain order on the pages: 1) First to show are the kneeboards pages of the Module itself, if it's developer has provided them .. those that have are the Viggen, MiG-21, C-101, CE2, Hawk ... cant remember if some other module has. 2) Then the kneeboard pages that you've put on /saved games/dcs/kneeboard/aircraft will show up 3) Next, the kneeboard pages of the map you are flying over will show up ... only Caucasus and Nevada have them ... wonder when if ever ED will add pages for Normandy and Persian Gulf. 4) Finally, the kneeboard pages that you've put within the .MIZ file will show. The last pages (4) can actually be seen first if rather than page forward with ] you start to page backwards with [ :) I would be so so happy if ED changed the order, so that the .MIZ comes first, then the one at Saved Games, then the Module's and last the Map's .. well, no harm in wishing, right ? :) Cheers For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Ramsay Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Does anyone know if there is a way to categorize the pages in the kneeboard? I ... would like to somehow make it so I didn't have to go through all those pages if I'm looking for something else. The kneeboard (RShift+K) opens with the flight plan pages, scrolling right (]) takes you through the route legs to your user pages. These are sorted by file name so • 000-1_Startup_Checklist.jpg is before • 001-1_Flight_Checklist.jpg • Landing Circuit.jpg ... etc. These are followed by the built in airport charts i.e. • DCS World\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\Kneeboard • DCS World\Mods\terrains\Nevada\Kneeboard ... etc. which of these you'll see will depend on the map flown. You can separate your own kneeboard pages by module name • Saved Games\DCS\kneeboard\[module name] i.e. to keep AV-8B pages hidden when flying the Hornet, etc. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
CallsignFrosty Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Sorry to invade a thread but I also have a quick question about the kneeboard. Mine is mostly off screen due (I think) to my multimonitor setup. Is there a way to change the kneeboards on-screen position? Maybe something to do with monitor.lua?
PitbullVicious Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 If it still works (haven't tested it for a while), I can't recommend the DCS Kneeboard Builder enough :) http://www.dcskneeboardbuilder.com/ i9-9900K @ 5.1GHz | MSI Ventus 3X OC RTX3090 24GB | 64GB 3200MHz DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z390-E | Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 Sound Card | Virpil T50CM2 base w/ F/A-18C / A-10C / Virpil T50CM2 Grip | WinWing Super Taurus Throttle | MFG pedals | TekCreations Hornet UFC, Landing Panel, Right Console | WinWing Hornet Combat Ready Panel | Buddy Fox UFC | Foxx Mount | 3 x TM Cougar MFD | HP Reverb G2 | Wacom Intuos S (with VRK) | Honeycomb Alpha Yoke | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | CH Fighter Stick Pro & Throttle | MS Sidewinder 2 FFB | Track IR 5 | Oculus Rift CV1 善く戦う者は、まず勝つべからざるを為して、以て敵の勝つべきを待つ。
pellelil Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) Kneeboard builder works fine for me, use it all the time. However you have to remember "Run as Admin". Can't live without it :-) EDIT: You can setup kneeboard pages that relate to specific maps or specific aircrafts. These can be categorized (e.g. I have a few pages I categorize as my HOTAS, a few others categorized as Checklists and so on). Here are some kneeboard pages I made for the Persian Gulf map, that I use with kneeboard builder: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303320/ Edited February 25, 2019 by pellelil Pelle Liljendal (MooseMan)
