I selected to drop 4 CBU and after I dropped, nothing happened. There was no explosion. I set fuze to VT and Efuze to INST with a hit of 1500 ft. I also don’t get an X to where I drop the bomb. It overshot. I just released when the horizontal bar lined up in the hud and auto said 0

Maybe coming in too shallow or too fast? Gotta drop em from up high, dive in steep, chop your throttle in the dive.

You don't get an X because you are in AUTO mode, which is CCRP. If you want to drop them CCIP, you have to select that mode.

Try not selecting an E-fuze setting.

GCI: "Control to SEAD: Enemy SAM site 190 for 30, cleared to engage"

Striker: "Copy, say Altitude?"

GCI: "....Deck....it´s a SAM site..."

Striker: "Oh...."

Fighter: "Yeah, those pesky russian build, baloon based SAMs."

EFUZ now needs to be set to INST. Behaviour changed.

Can you plz try to do the same but just drop ONE bomb at a time? I believe to observe some strange behavior dropping more than one cbu.

I am intensively testing the canister munitions since several updates.

Usually my assumption was that if you use more than one bomb at one target that you intensify the damage on that spot.

Strange thing is that I believe to get better results manually dropping the bombs one at a time then like to ripple fire them...

Therefor I am asking if it is just me or if you might be able to repeat that observation.

Did you hold down weapons release a couple seconds prior till the release point?

My cluster bombs don't go off, are we only allowed to use them at sea level? I set up a Mission in the mountains and tired to blow up an armored column in a Mtn pass, but they won't go off. I am not sure if 1500 ft is sea level or AGL, I can't set them higher, so I don't know if that's the problem or not.I use CCIP as the mode. I can get them to work at the caucasus abandoned air field.

The height is the canister burst height above ground. Try setting it lower. The canister won't pop if it's too close to your airplane. Low altitude drops will not work, which is confusing as the CBU is called a 'RET' on the MFD.

I don't know about specifics, but I use VT, INST and release the bomb a few thousand feet above my height setting with good results (latest release version, not beta).

Edit: dropping single bombs in CCIP.

Everything has to be in order for my Rockeye (it was not like this before tho)

Set MFUZ to VT,

Set Height to 1500,

Set EFUZ to INST (Instantly blow open the canistor? dont know)

Set MODE to CCIP

Drop the bomb somewhat over ALT 1500. around 2000 often fails. 3000~4000 should do it
