  1. I nice upgrade would be a US Marine UH-1N. APR-39, AAR-47, rockets, a nice sensor Brite Star II, and it's retired.
  2. Are you using a clearing turn? Right for the bow cats and left for the waist.
  3. Check us out at CSG-1, VMFA-122. We have guys all over the country and are active almost every night. Our dedicated flight nights are Sunday and Tuesday nights at 2000EST. Dedicated missions are PVE centric but sometimes contain a few human red air adversaries. We'll frequently jump on public PVE and PVP servers in addition to flying on one of our 4 private servers. The atmosphere is an easy mix of mil-sim and relaxing fun. The goal is to be proficient in all the Hornet's mission and have fun doing it. Most of us fly other modules including helos on "off" nights but we keep the 18 as our main. Jump in our Discord and say "hi."
  4. I'm biased towards our squadron skins. Every Squadron pilot has their own skin with unique plane captain names.
  5. They're two different lasers and with this pod you can't operate both at the same time. The laser designator uses a pulse repetition frequency i.e. a specific "code" The IR sparkle does not but it purposefully emits within the EM spectrum visible by NVGs and not your eyes. There are unique reasons you'd want to use both simultaneously but you can't. Wizards.
  6. I'm not following you. Why can't we change the FLIR FOV when the MAV E is selected in the stores page?
  7. You're not crazy. I don't select the mav until I point track the target in narrow field of view. I'm not sure if it's a bug. If not someone smart can tell us why it's a feature.

Nostalgia. This weapon was replaced by the Maverick family of missiles in the 90s. The JSOW, Maverick or SLAM-ER will offer better options.
  9. How would you know where to drop a waypoint on the HSI? Would you not want to input the exact grid in the UFC?
  10. It requires a TDC depress over the icon for me. It works on some of the other radar options as well.
  11. Not much in DCS. IRL, delaying the fuze allows the weapon to penetrate armored(Delay 1) or hardened targets(Delay 2).
  12. I see why you'd want that. The caged sensor is pointing straight ahead relative to itself as a default fixed position. I'm not sure if the LITENING does this IRL but it would need to be constantly adjusting for yaw and AOA if it were pointing to match the VV. While useful this would be less than ideal compared to using JHMCS which it actually does. Then you could put your HMD crosshairs anywhere on the ground and cue the sensor to that point. It'll come.
  13. Hopefully, they improve the LST's ability to find an LSD. The benefit is getting your sensor in the target area faster. You could be relieving another aircraft who is bingoing out and they want to show you some targets before leaving. A reason for wanting to slew your sensor to your wing's LTD could be to correlate further or find a different target for a simultaneous attack. I can't wait till we can cue the sensor with JHCMS or slew it to a grid.
  14. Jonnie2bad is genuinely concerned for your safety. If he tells you, he'll have to kill you, in close with guns.
  15. I use the 476 programs. My default is prog 1(aft) for RF SAMs and notching Fox 3s. Prog 5 for the merge because you don't know what missle is coming at you. Also don't forget the wall dispense. Map it and you now have a MANPAD and Fox 2 option. I understand what you're saying about changing the program. The only time I will change it is for prog 4 if I feel like being biligerent and break altitude sanctuary for an accurate CCIP drop around a possible MANPAD threat. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=492 If you set your own program, remember updates will reset the values so keep a copy of your file.
  16. 18. Depending on who you ask, the back seat has more to learn than the front seat. Flying with Jester is never as good as a proficient RIO. In the 18, you'll never have to worry about any of that or the task of finding a good RIO.
  17. Set a Bingo prior to dumping. The dump will automatically shut off at your bingo.
  18. Thanks for the products. Is there a second page to the first doc? It's missing the SA-2 and SA-3.
  19. Here's what I've seen so far. HOS: Filters out all friendly systems. Will show everything hostile including search radars. H2: SA-15, SA-11, SA-19, SA-10 systems H1: SA-3, SA-6 systems
  20. Can we get the Fan Song radar to populate within the "Old Hostile" H1 Category? With the other older systems, you can filter out the SR. Right now you can't solely target the tracking radar.
  21. The identification of position (I/P) works with IFF. When pressed and decoded it marks the the aircraft to an operator to verify the aircraft is, in fact, the pilot they are speaking with.
