VampireNZ Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I should have chosen my words a little more carefully. "The head position in the Tomcat is correct to the pilot model" is what I should have said. My apologies for the confusion Vampire :) No worries, yeah I think the issue is with the default VR viewpoint in relation to the aircraft/seat/panel, not the eyes/pilot head location  Vampire
VampireNZ Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 what i did to fix the issue... put myself in the tomcat, pressed Ralt+Num0. shut down dcs, went into user/saved games/dcs/config/view/snapviews.lua opened the file and edited the relevant section accordingly: [14] = {--default view - VR viewAngle = 90.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.0, vAngle = 0.0, x_trans = 0.0, y_trans = 0.0, z_trans = 0.0, rollAngle = 0.0, setting all the values to 0 feels pretty perfect for me. Agreed, just reset all my values to 0.0 also and it looks good! Seems HB have the correct position if the default values are 0.0, but for some reason you spawn into the pit in VR in a different place? Have these values been moved away from the initial 0.0 datum? Have these values been moved away from the initial 0.0 datum?I'm going to try to manually set this in my snap view lua file tonight. Last night I tried to do it in game with the keyboard shortcuts but it would not save the position. I remember a while ago that it did once save for the A10C. In VR it seems I'm placed in the cockpit as if my head is hitting the top of the cockpit glass so I want to lower myself down in the seat. I'll set them manually to zero and see how that looks because I felt really uncomfortable trying to do the landing training yesterday which threw me off a lot. The F18 VR pit is the one I feel like it spawns you in the right place but a few others as soon as you load in feel a bit odd. I dont want to delete the snap view file because I'm pretty sure I have settings for other models I fly which I'll have to redo. I just hope that if I do delete it, the game will save the new one when I adjust it. sze5003 Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Resetting snapview values to 0 made it look much better in VR for me. It still felt a little high on the seat and a bit too much back but I manually adjusted it and then saved the view. It had all crazy values in there by default. Some were negative too. Jack McCoy Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 This: You can change and save your default position: Right CRTL+SHIFT and Numpad / to move view back Right CRTL+SHIFT and Numpad * to move view forward Right CRTL+SHIFT and Numpad 8 to move view up Right CRTL+SHIFT and Numpad 2 to move view down RAlt +Num0 to save the postion RCRTL+RSHIFT and Num4 to move view left RCRTL+RSHIFT and Num6 to move view right Before doing that, I sit square in my seat and look far in front, and hit Num5. "Allow user snap views" is required in the config. i7-7700K@4.8GHz, 16Gb-3200, GTX-1080Ti-Strix-11Gb, Maximus IX Hero, Oculus Rift, Thrustmaster Warthog+F/A-18C, Logitech G940 Pedals.
