obious Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Hi All, Long story short, I downloaded a fresh copy of the beta version of DCS World when the F-14 came out almost exclusively for that purpose. As the weeks progressed that led up to yesterday's prime/stable release, I also installed a few other modules (F-18, F-5) in the Beta install. Now that the F-14 is on the stable branch, I'd like to get rid of the beta install but am worried that if I don't deauthorize the modules first, I'll loose an activation count/credit across all modules. Does anyone know how (or if I even have to) I can deauthorize the modules in my beta install? Thanks Intel 12900k @ 5.2Ghz, RTX 4090, Samsung 1TB NVME, Thrustmaster Warthog & F-18 stick, Pendular Rudder Pedals - Quest Pro AV8B N/A UFC Build Log AV8B N/A PCBs for sale
draconus Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) Just turn your current installation into Release version: DCS_updater.exe update @release https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 So 5 mins and you're good to go without activation hustle. The Star force activations dont work like that, the activations are once per PC and they get recorded on the Windows Registry. Once activated, you can install as many versions of DCS as your disk space allows and they will not ask for further activations. When you need to deactivate/activate ? Only on two cases: (1) A Windows reinstall. (2) A large hardware upgrade (as the protection cant distinguish an upgrade, from a blatant copy of the game to another PC) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Rudel_chw Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) I actually plan on doing a new build next month, so I need to deactivate anyway. Why the rush? if you deactivate a module today, you wont be able to fly on it until you reactivate it again. I usually deactivate right before I will do the upgrade. Any idea how I do that?Within DCS, goto to Module Manager and click on the DRM button of every aircraft that you have. Not all aircrafts have this button, as several aircrafts now use keyless protection rather than star force: Edited April 4, 2019 by Rudel_chw For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
