VFA41_Lion Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 WARNING do not do this unless you want to screw up livery selection for all aircraft creating an "f-14b" folder in \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\ disabled EVERY LIVERY in the game for player piloted aircraft. Livery selection in-game and in the mission editor was blank. Repairing and cleaning the installs fixed some aircraft, but not others, and eventually I had to completely remove the liveries folders from all affected aircraft and force the game to re-download them. please fix D:
Rudel_chw Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Thanks for the warning, I have not yet downloaded any tomcat livery, so didnt meet this issue. Lets hope that Heatblur is reading this thread in spite of not being on the bugs report section of the tomcat forum. VFA41_Lion Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 wasnt sure where to post it, as the issue affected selection in all the modules I had installed
Grimes Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Can't replicate it. Maybe it was a specific livery that messed things up? The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. VFA41_Lion Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 there was no actual files in the folder i created. simply creating it and naming it borked things
Grimes Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Yeah can't replicate that either. All my liveries are showing even if the f-14b folder is empty. Magic Zach Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 There is no such livery folder in DCS.openbeta. Only folders by default are Config, Data, fxo, ImagesShop, Kneeboard, Logs, metashaders2, MissionEditor, Mssions, Movies, Screenshots, Scripts, and Tracks. You may have installed mods that added a livery folder. Maybe try repairing DCS. The liveries folder for the F-14 is in Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World OpenBeta/CoreMods/aircraft/F14/Liveries/f-14b, not anywhere in Saved Games. For starters repairing DCS doesn't touch saved games at all, it will only check your install folder. More importantly the saved games folder mimics the install folder to an extent that it acts as the go to place to install certain mods. Specifically you can add content via coremods, mods, and liveries folders within saved games that will not impact your main install at all. VFA41_Lion Posted April 7, 2019 Author Posted April 7, 2019 well i completely removed the liveries folders in both installs and only put custom ones in the main "dcs open beta" folder, and so far its working. Sure as heck not touching livery folder in the other path again
