GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 I chanced upon this and found it most helpful in explaining IFF/HAFU/NCTR: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/F/A-18C#IFF.2C_HAFU.2C_and_NCTR The rest of the manual: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/F/A-18C Cheers AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC 8GB | 64GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z4 neo DDR4 3600Mhz | Asus B550 TUF Plus Gaming | 2TB Aorus Gen4 TM Warthog HOTAS | TrackIR 5 | Windows 10 Home x64 | My HOTAS Profiles
_mu110_ Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know if we will be able to get an NCTR print when locking a target in TWS, or is it only possible with an STT? Check out my skins and mods on the User Files.
wurger13 Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 WOW, great find... Lots of good info there. Thanks! i9-13900K@5.8Ghz, RTX 4090 FE 24GB, Aorus Elite AX MB, 64GB DDR5 6000, 2x2TB M.2 980pro SSDs, Win11 64 P, TM Warthog, T-IR 2D @ 4K, Quest Pro VR.
Eaglewings Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) This is a very resourceful medium to get information about dcs Hornet. I must confess I am getting very detailed information on how the systems functions. There are things about the air - air radar that are clearly explained. I equally like the highlighting of features not implemented yet. Yeah, great stuff out there. Thanks. Sierra99 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know if we will be able to get an NCTR print when locking a target in TWS, or is it only possible with an STT? I believe NCTR print operates independent of radar mode. The only requirement is that the Radar be close enough it’s able to “See” the fan blades. Video tutorials are great but sometimes more can be explained slowly and clearly in text. AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC 8GB | 64GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z4 neo DDR4 3600Mhz | Asus B550 TUF Plus Gaming | 2TB Aorus Gen4 TM Warthog HOTAS | TrackIR 5 | Windows 10 Home x64 | My HOTAS Profiles
Jak525 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Ayy! I wrote most of that page - seriously means a lot people found it useful. Appreciate the compliments all!
Manuel_108 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Good stuff, Jak525! Thanks for writing this, it‘s very straightforward to read. Also a big thanks to everyone else who contributes to the page.
rob10 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Yeah it's like the manual we never got. Video tutorials are great but sometimes more can be explained slowly and clearly in text. My thoughts exactly. It sure could be the basis for a nice manual. I understand why DCS doesn't update the current one very often until things are more complete, but this Wiki is awesome! Many thanks to those who put it together (and the OP for pointing it out here) because I know that didn't happen in 5 minutes!
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted April 12, 2019 Author Posted April 12, 2019 After more reading and practice, I found that... NCTR print (type of plane on SA page bottom right) requires an STT lock in RWS, whether in the non-LTWS mode (single TDC depress) or LTWS mode (double TDC depress). Once a print is obtained, it is remembered even if NCTR is turned off. The cursor in SA page has always got to be over the STT target to see print.
