draconus Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Stupid question: The 2.5.5 is the Stable and the 2.5.6 is the OB, aren't they I'm asking because I have the 2.5.5 installed and I can fly the JF-17 in that version (because the free trial month). Maybe is because I have steam version? or maybe because weeks ago I upgrade to 2.5.6 in steam and then rollback to 2.5.5 (Not clean installation, just rollback) O_O Or maybe you have beta v2.5.5 which did include JF-17. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4126683&postcount=81 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

Anyway, this is a little confusing for me. So, there is a 2.5.6 OB, a 2.5.5.whatever that is Beta too (even If I have selected in Steam the option "none: exit all beta programs"). what version is the stable then?

Current version check: https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com ED keeps two public branches - stable (release) and open beta. You can have one or both branches installed as standalone. I don't know about Steam. You can also choose to install any previous version. Beta is updated first with improvements, bug fixes and new features and modules. When ED is happy with the beta state they release the stable with the same version. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
daemon1808 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Thanks Draconus, that is a very useful link (for steam users even more, because on steam is a bit confusing what is what) So, if stable is 2.5.5.41371.1, I have the stable installed (checked, same version on Steam) and I'm currently using the JF-17. But people keeps complainig that JF-17 is only playable in OB ^_^

Steam is a mystery for me. You may ask in their forums if you wish. Btw: look what is written in the E-shop for standalone DCS JF-17: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/ Edited May 3, 2020 by draconus Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
QuiGon Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 (edited) The JF-17 is actually available in the current Stable. Take a look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2249076&postcount=2 JF-17 was introduced in 2.5.5.40603 and the current Stable version is beyond that (2.5.5.41371.1). Big thanks at Skatezilla btw for maintaining this version history! It may look like that (and I thought exactly like that some time ago) but you cannot find that info in the update notes for stable. Also multiple users confirm that JF-17 is not available in the current stable - at least for standalone DCS. The E-shop and Module Manager clearly states that it require Beta for Thunder. Apparently it does not apply for Steam version. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
daemon1808 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 It's ironic that Steam has something sooner than the standalone :megalol:
