Don't know if anyone is using it, but I just received mine recently. Early impressions are very positive. The setup took me about 45 min to put everything together (instructions are downloadable PDF on their website). The materials used are very solid, heavy and polished--even the shipping materials appear premium. The way things are put together is well thought out and easy to follow instructions with minimal headache. Once assembled it is very sturdy, zero wobble, and can take a lot of weight.

Price-wise it is a bit expensive, but for long term use I think it is well worth it considering it is very scalable with different add-ons that you can purchase. And this is the reason I picked it over competitors. I would've preferred the black version, but couldn't stomach the significant price hike.

Unfortunately, it uses larger metal shaft profile and is not compatible with Foxxmount devices. I happen to like the new mounting plate from Foxxmount that can take pretty much every major base out there, which is a bummer. I might have to purchase more mounting plate or ask Foxx to make a special all-in-one mounting plate for me for this thing.

This setup is with the 4K OLED screen, and when sitting right next to the TV the experience is quite unmatched especially in image fidelity area. Everything is clearly visible in 4K res even the bottom MFCD in the Hornet allowing me to see the moving map in detail. Outside view is even better with vivid color and contrast which makes ground spotting much easier since everything just pops and appears crisp without shimmering or blurriness. Night flying is also a blast with really nice black levels. I would rate the experience better than my current VR setup.

So I think Monstertech has a winner here, a scalable flight stand that can adapt to your various needs. It looks great, plays great and is built to last.

PS

The Negatives:

The right leg stand is only half thickness, so this reduced the overall expandability of the unit. Which means if I want to add a right sided joystick or keyboard mount this won’t be compatible with the existing add-ons. It is likely a cost-cutting measure, albeit a short-sighted one.

Is it possible to reverse the assembly to put the left leg stand on the right hand side? From the looks of things it could be assembled either way, I may be wrong.

This might exactly be what I need someday when eventually all my gear is arriving. But it is really some kind of expencive. Good thing is I would support a small company in my country *g*

When the stand costs more than the electronics.... yikes. It does look nice, but needs to cost about 1/2 as much.... although that modularity is very nice.

Yeah , i looked into building my own simpit and and found the retail cost of the extruded aluminum and fittings to be insane . I don't know why . Perhaps it is only made in Europe .

Two years ago I ordered Monstertech's desk mounts and was very impressed with the design and quality of the finished product. Olson, the owner, personally corresponded with me even tho it was a small order. Last month I sprang for the big enchilada. I ordered the MTX Flight frame, side HOTAS mounts and base plate. Total costs with DHL shipping from Germany a little shy of $1,000 US.

The shipment arrived this Wednesday and Thursday(DHL lost one of the boxes for a day) and I began putting it together yesterday. I haven't slept since.

I don't know what has happened at Monstertech with their expansion but it is a complete failure. I received items I didn't order and didn't get some vital components that were ordered. I have no throttle and joystick mounting plates and no hardware to attach the HOTAS pedestals to their outriggers. The base plate is an ill fitting composite board with a slick finish that slides around on the metal frame making for unsafe footing.

As you can imagine I have fired off emails explaining the errors and requesting an ETA on omitted items. Now it is well after lunch in Germany and they'll be closing shop for the weekend. I have not heard from anyone today. Not even a note acknowledging my inquiries and problems.

Monstertech Flight Stand Early Impressions

I have since ordered an extra vertical stand for right-handed joystick mount and had no issues. Their tech support can take a few days before you get any response, FYI, but they do respond.

Murphy's law at work here. Let's hope for a happy ending.

What series of aluminum profile is used for the base? Pictures look like 40 or 45 mm but can’t tell.

I spoke with the owner this morning and he is going to see that the order is made right.
