  1. Cannot download DCS Beta. No longer available?
  2. I spoke with the owner this morning and he is going to see that the order is made right.
  3. Two years ago I ordered Monstertech's desk mounts and was very impressed with the design and quality of the finished product. Olson, the owner, personally corresponded with me even tho it was a small order. Last month I sprang for the big enchilada. I ordered the MTX Flight frame, side HOTAS mounts and base plate. Total costs with DHL shipping from Germany a little shy of $1,000 US. The shipment arrived this Wednesday and Thursday(DHL lost one of the boxes for a day) and I began putting it together yesterday. I haven't slept since. I don't know what has happened at Monstertech with their expansion but it is a complete failure. I received items I didn't order and didn't get some vital components that were ordered. I have no throttle and joystick mounting plates and no hardware to attach the HOTAS pedestals to their outriggers. The base plate is an ill fitting composite board with a slick finish that slides around on the metal frame making for unsafe footing. As you can imagine I have fired off emails explaining the errors and requesting an ETA on omitted items. Now it is well after lunch in Germany and they'll be closing shop for the weekend. I have not heard from anyone today. Not even a note acknowledging my inquiries and problems.
  4. Anyone know where I could find a full size replica of a Bf109, 110 or Fw190 instrument panel? It does not need to be functional as I fly only in VR. I would like to have something between me in my flight chair and my computer sitting on a stand above my pedals.
  5. You need to click on the small Application Settings tab to route the app to your DCS file and Saved Games DCS folder. Then click Verify and the two red boxes should turn green indicating success. Click on the Home tab and you should see your build(s) populated in the drop down menu.
  6. Here is what I'm working with at the moment. The advise I got from the vpc forum was to disregard the vpc firmware altogether. Delete the entire download bundle. Then download joytokey and use it to assign buttons, axis etc. A feature of joytokey is that you can create a config file for each application and have joytokey activate your flight controls when you launch the game. This is of interest to me flying in VR as I will be able to have mouse control transferred to a 8 way tophat on the throttle and not need to grope for the mouse. When I programmed my throttle tophat like that before joytokey killed my mouse and portions of my keyboard (page up, page down, delete etc). Now that I know that trick I see that I can map and save key bindings to a file to be used only with a particular game or multiple games when desired and idle when not in use. It's disheartening to me that someone within Virpil hasn't changed the instructions for use to address the problem.
  7. Between the latest update here and IL2 my throttle is an expensive paperweight. I hadn't finished mapping key commands when everything I did began conflicting. If anyone would like to purchase a very recent T50 Mongoos throttle give me a shout. List price and postage is all I ask. I'm too old to begin learning all the tricks this baby is capable of. Upcoming medical procedures are going to take me out of flight sim for a bit anyway.
  8. First you must have Windows Mixed Reality Portal installed. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/mixed-reality-portal/9ng1h8b3zc7m?activetab=pivot:overviewtab When Mixed Reality Portal opens simply minimize it to the tool tray and launch the sim. You can switch control of your mouse between headset and desktop by pressing Win+Y. For Steam VR support you'll need to download Steam VR For Mixed Reality - https://store.steampowered.com/app/7...y_for_SteamVR/ To access settings open Windows Settings and you'll see a new group called Mixed Reality. In the Display Headset tab select High performance. Also in the Headset Display tab is a button under Experience for Change. There you can make sure your headset is set to 90Hz. Cheers

  10. You need an adapter to change HDMI plug to Displayport. Something like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005H3I38Q/ref=psdc_3015395011_t5_B00JQORLCG
  11. The realism of VR can not be matched. As stated above you feel as though you are IN the aircraft. I owned CV1 Rift for 18 months then tried the Odyssey Plus. It has richer colors and little to no screen door effect. https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/hmd/windows-mixed-reality/hmd-odyssey-windows-mixed-reality-headset-xe800zba-hc1us/ Samsung Odyssey+ does not ship directly to Europe. There is a company that will handle European customers - https://www.bigapplebuddy.com/ A word of caution - A friend recently bought an Odyssey+ and had it shipped to Poland. They levied a $169 import fee on the $400 purchase. Check with customs in your area before ordering.
  12. After only 10 mins with the Odyssey+ I listed my Rift on ebay. There is that much difference between the two systems. With the Odyssey you put your face in the headset then tighten the headband for a secure fit. The other HMDs you adjust the headset with the straps to fit your face. Different approach and seems odd to long time users but actually makes for a better fit and less outside light seeping in. I have experienced no head tracking problems. The Odyssey is 1:1 same as Rift.
  13. Where is it being held? I searched the linked website and do not see a location indicated. The organization has a UK url but that's no help.
  14. There is another thread where they discuss the GUI. A new version has been released that fixes the problem. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053&page=61
  15. If you want to go with a Ryzen CPU I could put together a very good system for you based on an ASRock X370 Killer SLI motherboard for less than your stated amount. Over the winter I built a few computers for long term patients at VA hospitals in my area. Gave the guys Oculus VR gear donated by a friend. I have some motherboards, cases and other parts left over that I don't want to be bothered with ebay etc. I have a Ryzen 5-1600x CPU and am completely satisfied. Your mileage may vary.
  16. It's updating away here on the US east coast. No problems.
  17. My last order from VKB (Mk IV rudder pedals) arrived at my home 48 hrs after leaving Hong Kong. It was flown directly to Chicago and then to my town on the US east coast. I think DHL was the carrier on this end.
  18. Pricing and availability hasn’t been officially announced yet, but our PR contact hinted it will cost around $500 (£373). https://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Thrustmaster-TPR-Rudder-System-revealed-for-hardcore-flight-sim-fanatics
  19. I don't expect to see any WW2 planes added in my lifetime. I turned 70 last month (thanks ED for the ecard). Look at what's available for WW2 fans: P51, Spitfire, 109F and 190D, Normandy map. There's a pack called "WW2 Assets" but it only adds AI and tanks. Unless you want to fly jets ED has little to offer.
  20. If you need any assistance with the Mossie contact Ross Sharp ~ airshowconsultants@gmail.com ~ former curator for the RAF museum.
  21. Lockheed-Martin has adapted their Black Hawk helicopter for fighting forest fires. They've named it Fire Hawk. But the new designation for an existing military craft is not the reason I think they need ED help. Lockheed-Martin needs some serious work on the graphics in their ads. Just take a look at this pathetic video released yesterday by a multi-billion dollar international aerospace corporation.
  22. Berniyh, Have you tried Amazon? https://www.amazon.com/T-Rudder-Mk-IV-Flight-Simulator-Pedals-Linux/dp/B01G6GT4A8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524510894&sr=8-2&keywords=vkb%2Brudder%2Bpedals&th=1
  23. I love my VKB Mk IV pedals. You step down on the pedal using your ankle instead of pushing with your entire leg and hip. Long flights are no problem as you can move your feet around to get comfortable then readily put them back into position without hunting for cups for your heels. Best feature is that you don't need to have your knees close together. The pedals measure 16" (4.6 cm) wide and allow you to space your feet apart without being restricted to one setting from the factory as with all other makes. I've not needed to adjust the height or tension from taking them out of the box. Plugged them in and they were ready to use. Presto. BTW - Mine were shipped DHL Air Express from Hong Kong and arrived on the east coast of US 3 days later as their standard method.
  24. No. I haven't been using Steam. I'll try SkateZilla's GUI tool and see what happens. I really liked the Config Mgr he made when it worked. My password has @ and one numeral. It wasn't a problem in the past. I use Windows Defender and disable it when downloading from a trusted site such as DCS. Can't bother with any longer tonight. Early appointments tomorrow. Thanks for your calm tone and helpful advice. Greatly appreciated. Cheers
  25. Another point of irritation: Every time I try to log in I get an error message saying my password is invalid (it's not) and I need to reenter the user name and password. I check auto log in and remember my password just to have it fail and not remember or auto load on the next attempt.
