Davee Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Hi guys, I have gone to Oculus S VR and also decided to upgrade my Vid Card to gain better fps and better graphics clarity. I have a good running 1080 and want to upgrade but budget is a BIG issue. A ti series is not affordable. I see that the new RTX 2070 Super card is whithin my budget. I guess the real question is: is it worth the upgrade to the RTX 2070 super at this time or wait a bit? I understand that an RTX 2080 super is on the doorstep. I do not intend to switch to AMD. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
Mustang Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Looking at this benchmark compare there isn't that much of a reason to goto 2070 from 1080 https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2070-Super-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4048vs3603

I would be a nice improvement over the 1080. Not enough difference in performance for the buck. Thanks for the link.

That is not what i have been reading . The 2070 super will go toe-to-toe with the 1080ti in gaming benchmarks . Synthetic benchmarks , as above , seem to be poor predictors of actual gaming/simming performance . Look at the vid by Benchmark PC Tech on youtube . And the 2070S is new , with a warranty for $500 . The 1080ti used (abused ?) Sells mostly around $550 . Delta59R Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 They do look to be more expensive now, I picked mine up for 475.00 on CL and remember 450 being a common sell price for a period but at 550 its a tough call.
