Fisherman82 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hello, I was asigning parking spots G24 and G25 to me and my AI wingman today and saved the mission. When I opened it again it had changed back to auto again, tried again but it allways changes back to auto. Is this a known bug or do anyone have a workaround for it? I tried editing the mission file in the miz file but the lines about parking looked the same as in another file I had that works.

Fisherman82 Posted September 14, 2019 Author Posted September 14, 2019 absolutely necessary ! And the mission file too. Sorry, I was a little tired after trying to fix it for a couple of hours before I gave up. Its on the Nevada map, the parking spots G24 and G25 are at Nellis. However, I did some more testing to day and noticed that it occurs at Creech aswell. Most likely all airports at the Nevada map, havent tried on Caucassus and Persian Gulf. Im attaching my a miz-file but its not related to a specific mission I made, you dont really need it, it would be better if you tried the following yourself. Place a Hornet in the air somewhere on the map and then place one waypoint anywhere you like and then another one as Landing waypoint at Nellis. Then assign a parking spot, G24 or anyone. Works well. However, now change first waypoint (0) to runway start at Nellis and then check the landing waypoint for the parking spot. It now reads AUTO, assigning parking spot is now impossible, it will always change back to AUTO. So the runway start is what has caused it somehow. If you get the same then clearly a bug as far as Im concerned, cant really post anything more to prove it. Noticed it when me and my AI wingman came in to park at the parking spots I assigned from two different taxiways. We cant land together because he still is a idiot. To my suprise he ignored his assigned spot and turned into a collision course with me on the same taxiway so I had to step on the pedal to steer into the sand. I did not hurt myself because I know, its a sim on my PC, but pretty annoying because instead of a realistic mission it became a slapstick in the end.Parking Bug Nevada.miz
ex81 Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Thanx for uploading the miz file but I don`t own the Nevada map, sorry. So Ican`t try it out myself. In the Caucasus and in the Persian Gulf maps I never had problems giving the planes exact parking spots, Hope othesr can help or confirm the bug. What goes up, must come down ! Rudel_chw Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 If you get the same then clearly a bug as far as Im concerned, cant really post anything more to prove it. Tried it and get the same, as soon as I alter Wp0 to Start on Runway, the landing gets Auto for the Parking slot. Tried a similar Mission on Caucasus and it happens on the same way. As a workaround, rather than start on Runway, use "Takeoff from parking Hot" .. you will loose just a little of time taxing but it isnt much and on the landing the AI will park where you want. Fisherman82 Posted September 15, 2019 Author Posted September 15, 2019 Ok, its a bug then, I hope ED will confirm that and fix it. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
Nightstorm Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I noticed this as well after the Viper open beta version. Seems to happen on all three maps, and at every base I've tried. Sometimes if you change it, save and run the mission from the ME it works correctly. I would presume it will still work even if you launch it again, but I haven't tested that.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted October 9, 2019 ED Team Posted October 9, 2019 Yes, this behavior has only been present after the latest open beta release with the Viper. Prior to the Oct 4 Beta, both client and AI aircraft (any aircraft, any map) would retain both their ramp spots as well as their assigned parking spots after landing. Regardless of whether you initially place the aircraft to "takeoff from runway" before setting the aircraft to "takeoff from ramp", every time you click on an aircraft slot, the flight as a whole will revert to auto parking and the wingmen will snap to the closest parking spots near the flight lead. This can be especially troublesome if you have static aircraft placed on the flight line, with client slots starting from various starting locations in a line of fighter jets. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head
Fisherman82 Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 Same problem now exist on the Stennis, you cant place four aircraft, one on each catapult. All of them end up on cat 1. Cats 2,3 and 4 are impossible to assign. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
