How come? Is this on a specific aircraft?

F-15s Over the Super Bowl

F-15 Eagles patrol areas around critical infrastructure and during special events. Fighter

aircraft such as these conducted air patrols around Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., in

support of Super Bowl XLIII. (U.S. Air Force photo/Chief Master Sgt. Gary Emery)

Specific? Yes, MiG-21MF and MiG-21bis with well maintained batteries have enough capacity for 5 "hotstarts". Every 5th engine startup should be performed thru external suorce in order to fully charge internal battery thus maintaining it's lifespan.

Next time you feel frustrated in a long commercial flight, at least you don't have to carry your luggage in your lap.

You forgot to mention the restrooms... they are not very inspiring.

So, the aircraft generators do not recharge the battery during engine operations?

Thanks for the info

I do not know if those where the actual aircraft flying over the Super Bowl, they might have just put the first F-15 photo they found. Also, keep in mind that an aircraft assigned to a base, may go different places on Temporary Duty (TDY) For all I know ZZ jets are in CONUS TDY.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

your right, that sucks. I had long flight in a C-130 from Aviano to Zaragoza, the worst aircraft ride I ever had.

You can see the shower curtain on this photo...guess where the bathroom is?

Well that Frogfoot seems to be used very often ;)

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Su-27 crash, Mirogrod, 24.4.1992

AFAIK, both pilots ejected, only one survived. As read in of the comments "All Su-27s crash the same". Hard to disagree with it...

Sad. One wonders if the relaxed stability and inherent trait of being able to command high pitch-rates at low speed & high alpha inspires overconfidence. Pilots of the MiG-29 and SU-27 have reported that it is a very easy aeroplane to control; of course this comes with it's own problems.

RIP. Can't see the ejection on that video. The G-forces during earth impact must have been tremendous! Did they ejected after initial earth touch?

looks like seats eject at 1:35. Not sure

I think so too. And at 1:36 further on it seems that the ejection of the pilot that died is visible, with the seat hitting the ground with rocket motor kicking in for a split second. The one that survived would be visible at 1:35 indeed. The rocket motor flash is quite distinctive. Hard to say for sure though due to the usual 'cameraman syndrome'.
