I'll be damn, it's Christian Bale! :shocking:

I heard he lost 60 pounds for the part in "The Machinist" (also great movie by the way).

So I guess for "Empire of the sun" he had to loose some 30 years...:D

Historic Wingman!

A vintage P-47 Thunderbolt and an F-16 Fighting Falcon perform a heritage flight together

over San Antonio Oct. 11 as part of the 182nd Fighter Squadron's 60th anniversary

celebration. The squadron, which belongs to the Texas Air National Guard 149th Fighter

Wing, traces its heritage to the 396th Fighter Squadron, which flew P-47s in combat during

World War II. For the Oct. 11 flight, Robbie Vajdos, of Louise, Texas, flew the P-47 from the

Lone Star Flight Museum, in Galveston, Texas. Lt. Col. John Kane of the 182nd FS piloted

the F-16. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt. Mike Arellano)

PLANE LANDS ITSELF AFTER PILOT EJECTS - This F-106A (S/N 58-0787) was involved in an

unusual incident. During a training mission, it entered an flat spin forcing the pilot to eject.

Unpiloted, the aircraft recovered on its own and miraculously made a gentle belly landing in a

snow-covered field. (U.S. Air Force photo)

Description if you hover mouse above it:

History provides a stunning analysis of midair events: Most typically take place in daylight, under good visibility, with the low-speed aircraft within 30 degrees relative bearing of the other aircraft?s flight path. In other words, the aviators should see each other, but often don?t. (photo by Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Allen/composite by David M. Stack)

It is an F-35, probably just a life size model for presentation of sorts. Guess it depends on where the pic was taken...if it was taken at Pax River MD, it could be a real a/c. On second thought, thats at the Ft Worth plant. Its a model.

I have no idea if it real or not but, why can't it be a real aircraft if it is at Ft Worth plant? Sorry your response made me curious.

Im dead set at a dummy model simply because it looks like its sitting on top of a building. Ive never set foot on that property before, but it wouldnt be the first time Lockheed used a full size dummy or retired aircraft on site for display. The Palmdale plant has a full size F-117 in the parking lot. We just have a small museum on Dobbins featuring old aircraft.

Is it me, or are the laser munitions going off target? Funny thing to put in a video. But I like the cheese at the beginning :D

I think we all have gone back on forth on this. They certainly are off but from what I read in manuals and such normal operation for some LGB. It could be they are practice LGB, or they where release out of parameter, ect. Like every thing else to many factors to know for sure.

On another note.

looks like not all pilots felt comfortable following those orders

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/feb/21/libya-pilots-flee-to-malta

The two Mirage F1 jets touched down in Malta after the pilots said they urgently needed to refuel and sought emergency clearance to land. The Times of Malta reported on its website the pilots had told officials they flew to the island after being ordered to bomb protesters occupying Libya's second-biggest city of Benghazi.

One report said they had also brought with them two other members of the Libyan armed forces. The pilots – both colonels – said that, after taking off from Okba Ben Nafi base, they flew low through Libyan air space to avoid radar detection.
