Here are some photos of the "Zigermeet" airshow in Mollis (switzerland)

The A-10 demo was announced but then cancelled due to "political reasons" and:chair: and :wallbash: I really don't know what bit them

The 60th anniversary of the Hawker Hunter (which was part of the swiss air force)

The Hunter was also designed to kill tanks but doesn't have one huge gun but 4(!) 30mm cannons. And I think it even can carry Mavericks, because I once sit in it's cockpit an I think there was a button indicating it...

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Fighter plane collision at Duxford show

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-14101641

An inquiry has begun after two classic US fighter planes collided during an air display show in Cambridgeshire.

One of the planes, thought to be a P-51 Mustang, plummeted to the ground after the aircrafts' wings touched, forcing the pilot to parachute to safety.

The pilot of the other plane, a Skyraider, went on to land safely, after the military aircraft took to the air during the Flying Legends show.

...

A spokesman for organisers the Imperial War Museum Duxford confirmed that both pilots were okay and had been treated by paramedics at the scene.

Was a Skyraider and P51D Big beautiful Doll that hit each other (in fact it looks like the Raider hit the P51D but thats just semanics.

Rob Davies MBE jumped from the P51D and landed battered and bruised and apparently had a sense of humour failure. Cant blame him, he owned the P51D after all. Goodbye about £2mil worth of warbird. It looks pretty wrecked, maybe even written off too given that it dived nose first into the deck after Rob bailed out.

The Skyraider landed with a large section of the starboard wing tip missing (to about half way up the aileron).

So a good result personnel wise, not so good P51D wise.

A funny aside is that Rob used to own the Skyraider that hit him. Damn shame.

Not yet. They are still looking for the plane so it's probably uncertain at this stage whether he ejected or not.

The pilot of the aircraft, who has been identified as Major Yuji Kawakubo, 37, remains missing…

At around 11 a.m. local time, ASDF rescue teams located and recovered the vertical tail of the fighter jet, which was floating in the sea. Some other wreckage was later found in the area.
