More Yeovilton:

The French visitors put on an absolutely amazing show. I think the Rafale was easily the most agile thing in the sky that day; incredible showmanship.

Super Etendard. I grew up reading about these, forever associating them with Exocets and HMS Sheffield. Curious I should first see one at a Royal Navy base.

The Titanium used in SR-71 was Russian..Another Area-51 secret, can you believe it...

Courtesy Discovery channel..

What do you mean Russian?! Was it stolen? Was it mined in Alaska? Was it mined somwhere within USSR state borders?

I guess Soviets lacked it during MiG-25 testing!

Provably earlier; they got migs and flankers (provably on 1999 or 2000) way before that civilian su-27. also if you look at the videos of the aim'9x testing you can speculate that the f-4 used there had russian flare dispensers installed; if not why would the bother to block the image.

They even tested the russian ejection seats after the spectacular mig-29 ejections at air shows; there is a video of a mig-25 testing that.

At least one mig-23 came from Egypt; provably an earlier model; they concluded that it was not a dogfighter like the mig-21 and a higher ranking pilot died on a mig-23 when he pushed the limits to much.

Venezuelan su-30mk going stratospheric

Here is a small documentary of the Venezuelan su-30mks; It is on spanish so I'm going to put some of the info so you guys can understand what is going on.

The two funny looking and guys are reporters who got the chance to fly on the back seats.

For this flight they went up to 56000 feet at mach 1.7 and at -98 degrees(I think F) to test one of the mks after its scheduled maintenance performed by russian and venezuelan technicians. The pilot talked about the suit used for this flight which is a high altitude version; used to prevent death in the event of a decompression in the cockpit. At the end they talk about all the records the su-30 broke in south america: more than 50000 pounds of thrust engine(in south america) speed record 2500KM/H; altitude record 22000 mts.

Hey they didn't do the climb in burners like we do in lomac :megalol:

That is why if the cockpit is closed and you need to get out fast (emergency situation) you just punch out the airplane with the ejection seat. at least that is what I seen from other documentaries and journalist who have flown the russian birds.

Yeah the journalist on the video where a bit funny one keep asking the other what he though about the speed and altitude; the other was like oh shit!
