chances of this ever happening is near nil. but imo not a safe location for a gas pump station.

Footage of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), in cooperation with the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the U.S. Navy, will conduct an Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) intercept flight test at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), off the coast of Kauai in Hawaii. The event, designated Japan Flight Test Mission 3 (JFTM-3), marks the third time that a JMSDF ship will demonstrate the sea-based midcourse ballistic missile defense capability provided by Aegis BMD.

I noticed that no one here called it off, so I will (even knowing that most of you are aware of this).

I won't comment on the president's attitude, the only thing I can say about it is that he decided to do it himself instead of doing it the right way (good news are that next year we have elections :D).

The competition is still open. Rafale, Gripen NG or F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. It will probably be decided until the end of this year.

The new fighters are intended to replace, initially, the provisory Mirage 2000C fleet that replaced our aging Mirage IIIs. Plans are that the new aircraft, called "FX-2", replaces both AMX and F-5M fighters. May I say, these years are being very good to our airforce. F-5M, A-29 (EMB-314 "Super Tucano/Toucan". By the way, check for the cockpit of the F-5M and the A-29. Really worth the look :smilewink:) UH-60, Mi-35, FX-2 coming in...

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Interesting ideo, note Idle RPM of 70% not 65% like in LOFC...

Hehe, actually the AI uses 70% as idle RPM. You can see it, when you fly faster and higher than the flight plan wants you to. Simply activate autopilot and watch the computer set throttle to 70% while the plane decelerates. Funny stuff.

Cool video though. Those guys have put in quite some effort to restore the beauty. The buttons look like it has been produced with those. Impressive.

fake-edit: By the way, yes, it seems to be the one that was imported to the US 2 years ago. It is currently up for sale. (zoom-able picture of the front cockpit inside)

Yes there are 2 UBs in total (#31 and #32) but I also noticed they changed a lot on this birds. Front cockpit is non standard, check various instruments in upper left hand part of the panel.

The other thing I noticed is the fact that both #32 and #31 have newer tail cones (stings) with more countermeasure cartridges than early Flankers. IIRC when these birds arrived to US they had early stings!

Edit:

IIRC Kusch or Namenlos gave us links to pics of these Flankers being transported to States in a An-124!
