Btw, Groove, u read that one with the "Americas Top Six Fighter's" who got the last place from the six? :music_whistling:

It´s a little bit unfair to count these 2 planes who are so young and not proved in combat yet, isn`t it ? Or did I miss something?

Sniffer mate, first photo in your post is taken over Pag island, Croatia in October 2002.

USN Tomcats and Hornets participated in Joint Wings 2002 exercise taking place over Kvarner bay in northern Adriatic with Istrian Pula AB as a hombase of all operations.

Note the old camo of Croatian fishbeds (Green, brown, green), telltale of DDR origin of these MiGs. Croatian MiG fleet formed up during first months of 1991-1995 war, first Fishbeds were deflecting Yugoslav airforce pilots who disobeyed given orders of Recon, Strike and BDA flights over Croatia. Later on, but still during the war 20something MiGs arrived from reunited Germany as a DDR heritage. Fishbeds were assembled in ZTZ institute (ex ZMAJ) near Zagreb and were flown to Pula AB as it was the most distant airbase from the frontline and chances of preemptive hardstand MiG hunt by Yugoslav airforce was the smallest.

Few more videos of the same event Joint Wings 2002 can be seen here:

Great videos. On the Su-35 vid, some conservative landings, for sure :D.

I just loved those landings at MAKS. I filmed the MiG-35 one (honestly, I didn't realized it was going to land until I saw the gear down and landing lights). Even the SuperJet 100 did a similar touch-down! To meet the standards, the Rafale landed the same way :D.

There is a very interesting article in the latest AFM issue about a F-16 pliot being on exchange with Bulgarian AF MiG29 pilots and their WVR BFM trainings. You would be suprised what he said, so go out there and buy it :)

going to get the magazine but I do know that the mig turns tighter at slow speeds but the falcon has quicker response.
