Moa Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I second this. I have to basically hold my hand dead still on the stick just to get the gate to stick to anything and STAY THERE. It's not just ships, but vehicles too. It sucks to waste a precious maverick I intended for that Tunguska because I lose the lock as I move my thumb up to pickle. It almost sounds as if you are moving the seeker to the target and then stabilising (with the TAB key) but not locking. I know you are probably doing it correctly but it is worth double-checking. Also, remember that the Maverick seeker won't track until its central cross is flashing. You can have the missile seeker stabilised (with TAB) but the seeker isn't locked until it flashes. Even then it can still miss (usually if the missile hits an object when coming in low to the target), but this should be rare.
RedTiger Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Unfortunately I don't even have LOMAC installed at this point after the my recent reformat, so I can't try anything out. The Hog isn't my usual ride, but what I remember is that I can move the seeker to the target area, stabilize and then move it to a vehicle. The gate will snap to the vehicle, but if I move the aircraft, like even a very slight pitch up or down, it will unsnap. It might snap/unsnap several times in a few moments with even slight stick movements, and moving my thumb up to pickle is a great example of what I mean by "slight". Maybe I'm not locking...again, not my usual plane of choice. As for the flashing cross...I can't recall if I was waiting for that, but I know that you should. That might be the problem. They still seem very sensitive, far more than say Falcon where once you get the gate to snap, it will stay there until the target is completely out of the seeker's viewing angle limit, no matter how you maneuver. To repeat, maybe I'm not locking? Sounds like it. No clue how they work in reality though.
Kuky Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 If the cursor snaps onto the target and you move aircraft and it unsnaps you either made the cursor out of scan zone or somehow the cursor movement is duplicated by your aircraft controls? I haven't flown ANY flight sims in quite some time  and I haven't flown the A-10 for even longer. I'm just gonna revoke my "second" so this thread can get back on track. I'll report back later in another thread if/when I get in the A-10 again.
Alastre Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) Works already, I am using it... go to StarForce website and download driver update, as simple as that :smilewink: First of all thank you! :) Then...I've downloaded the driver update from here: http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/ (i suppose the version is before 5.5) Then installed Lock on, then Fliming Cliffs, then i try to run it and the starforce windows told me "ok starforce protection installed, restart your computer". So at this i've lunched the driver update and got the message "protect driver updated" and tell me to restart the computer. At this point i reboot the system but i got the message on the icon tray that the starforce drive as been blocked due to incompatibility withi this version of windows...so if i try to run lock on it install the starforce drive again and ask me to reboot...and here the story starts again!!! Where i am wrong??? :helpsmilie: Edited May 30, 2009 by Alastre
pauldy Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I dunno if this has been stated already but I think some of the A-10's guages are not in sync.. Particularly the N2 Fan and the Fuel Indicator.. and the F-15's missile launch sequence.. e.g. You're loaded with 6 AIM-120s and a pair of AIM-9s When you don't change to Sidewinders before any missile launch.. The First AMRAAM you'll release will come from the Left outboard station. ..but when you change to the AIM-9 prior prior to any missile launch, the first AMRAAM will come from the front or back left Fuselage stations. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

RvEYoda Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) I'm almost certain u have problems locking ships cause this reason : Mavericks in lockon dont lock units. They lock the ground the unit is sitting on. (but of course there must be a unit sitting there in the first place, else it doesnt lock, just stabilize view) This means if you attack from low, then you must aim the seeker such that it hits the ground/water on which the ship sits. After you realize this, locking ships becomes easy, but somewhat unrealistic, at least this is what I've experienced. Bearitall Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Not sure if this was mentioned.??? Hey; I am very very happy that they now have come out and said that they will now work on a patch fo LoMac.. In case this has not been mentioned, how about a server side of the sim to make it easier to set up a host on another machine without having to constantly monitor it...I know someone has made a program for doing this but at least now with the many many times mentioned would be nice to have a server side software set-up Just wondering:doh: www.virtualtuskegeeairmen.com

RedTiger Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Hey, I have a question for an ED Tester or someone who would know; is fixing the problems LOMAC has with weapons drag/underpowered engines something that could be fixed in a new patch, or is this completely out of the scope of just a patch? I'm not talking AFM-level changes here, just making it easier to fly at high altitude trans-sonic without having to use burner all the time, mostly in the Eagle.
Aardvark892 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I'd simply like to see the training videos reinstated. Give us all of the training videos (plus a few more would be helpful) in a format that will work in the newest version. Tim

RedTiger Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Don't forget the 27/33 ;) But yeah good suggestion! The 27 and 33 carry a large amount of rather enormous missiles on underwing pylons. They also don't have those variable intakes. It doesn't bother me as much as it does in the F-15. ;) But yeah, my question applies to everything.
topol-m Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Guys please fix the missile`s maneuverability in game. They are bahaving like bullets not like missiles ;) Main issue - too little G loading at the moment just before impact resulting in the fighter outmaneuvering it and the missile misses. The G loading at that moment should be doubled, even tripled. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

The G loading at that moment should be doubled, even tripled. Hi Topol, the problem is not so much the G loading but the rate that the missiles scan. ED has confirmed that the missiles scan 10 times per second (10Hz). This is why a missile may be fast and pulling G's but it won't pull its nose around fast enough to hit you if you break close to it, barrel roll etc. Also, there are no missile proximity fuses in Lock On. Yoda's LRM mod addresses this by disallowing you to pull Gs in your jet with a missile close, but of course this behaviour should be addressed in a patch hopefully and fix the missiles themselves.

Ahh didn`t know that was the problem. Thanks for the info. The R-27ER for example needs heavy tweaking. This is the most stupid usable missile IMO, it is a feast when it manages to hit something. The way it almost always turns at the decoys when 1-2 km from the target makes me think of shooting myself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
