Andrei Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 I noticed that adjusting pressure on the analogue altimeter, regardless if in electric or pneumatic mode has no effect on the altitude display in HUD. Can anyone confirm that this is not implemented yet? randomTOTEN Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Yep, Standby Altimeter shows 8,700ft but HUD shows 9,000ft they're not linked. How do we adjust HUD baro?
eaglecash867 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The standby altimeter should send baro correction info to the CADC, which should in turn change the altitude reading on the HUD. Delareon Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 since it somehow relates to that.... Does anyone know how to adjust the pressure faster? For example: i had a setting of 3004 and Tower called a pressure of 2887..... I even gave up to reach the adjustment... Waht i tried was the mouse wheel and i tried to click and move the mouse but both technices are working just so slow that you only can do fine adjustments. Is it my fault or is it something that needs adjustment?

Frederf Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 F-16 uses QNH ops. If ATC gives you QFE, ignore it. Knob adjusts altimeter in PNEU mode and provides CADC data. HUD (and altimeter in ELEC) should display baro alt as calculated by CADC which includes knob input. Try right-click drag on knob as it's much faster than mouse wheel.
Greyman Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 how do you know which mode the altimeter is in, ELEC or PNEU? i can't see an indicator on/near the cockpit control
Frederf Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 There is a lever in the lower right corner of the gauge to control primary/secondary selection. When in PNEU mode there will be a yellow flag with "PNEU" above the thousands digit which should be seen when AC power isn't available such as when the engine is off on the ground. I checked and while it's clearly switching modes as the altitude shown changes, the PNEU flag isn't functioning and the text labels for the lever are not visible.
Greyman Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 thanks, i was doing the taxi training mission and when i had to get it into ELECT mode, i had found the switch to move between the two modes but couldn't see which was which. I couldn't see anything change when i switched modes, so i guess that PNEU flag and the labels are still to come.
Eldur Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 it's a bug...see bug section How come this is a confirmed bug now out of a sudden? The Hornet has the same issue as well since day one and they always said it was correct the way it is.

The Hornet's HUD altitude value changes when the knob is used and matches the altimeter gauge. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
