Plainsman Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 First question: How do I set up Instant Mission/Instant Action so only WWII planes show up in opposition? I can't figure it out. Every time I start an modern jet like an A10 or something else shoots my WWII plane out of the sky with a missile. It's over in 20 seconds. I only want WWII planes on both sides. Second question: How do I get the WWII add-on mission modules to actually work? I bought a few of them but can't figure out how to get them to load. If this is helpful: I have all requisite WWII terrains and modules and planes. I bought them all. I have Normandy terrain loaded/installed. I just want to fly WWII single player. As you can tell, I don't play DCS World very often although i keep my version up to date. Thanks in advance.
Rudel_chw Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 First question: How do I set up Instant Mission/Instant Action so only WWII planes show up in opposition? You cant, that feature was designed before the availability of WW2 planes in DCS and ED hasnt updated it yet. Second question: How do I get the WWII add-on mission modules to actually work? I bought a few of them but can't figure out how to get them to load. DCS has a menu on the right side .. click on TRAINING and you will get a Window where you select the aircraft on the left side and a list of training missions on the middle column. Once you have flown the training missions, on the main Menu try INSTANT ACTION, like with training, you select the aircraft on the left column and the mission on the middle one. For more complex missions, on the Main Menu click MISSION, by now you should knwo how to select the mission. Finally, once you can fly the aircraft well, you can try on the main menu to click CAMPAIGN .. here you can fly a series of Missions strung together one after the next. Not every plane has a Campaign, the ones still in Early Access, like the Spitfire and the Fw-190A8 dont have one yet. Hi currently we have a bug with our create fast mission feature, it will use modern aircraft as opposition as you have found. Best way to setup a scenario if you are not using instant action, mission, or campaign is to use the editor to create scenarios. If that is not your thing you can also download user missions and play those, they can be found here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ or here https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=165 hope that helps Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Best regards I was afraid you would answer that it isn't possible to do WW2 only Instant Mission. That is very disappointing. I do have Wings Over the Reich, which if very good, and IL2 Great Battles (Sturmovik, Bodenplatte, Kuban, and Moscow). I was hoping DCS WW2 would provide more opportunities with US WWII fighters. Thanks again. Edited October 29, 2019 by Plainsman
Rudel_chw Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 ... I'm referring to the WW2 missions that you can purchase from the DCS store. I purchased a few but can't find them in the game. Ahh, those are called Campaigns and you need first to install them using the module manager (a checkerboard icon on the top left of the main DCS screen. Once installed, you will find them under CAMPAIGNS on the main DCS menu.
