DERacing Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Heatblur, How about give us the option to adjust the amount of comments/frequency that jester talks to us? Normally, I fly MP, but sometimes get into the SP to practice some things. Unless the servers are running an active ATC/AWACS/etc, it is pretty quiet. How about a slider option to increase or decrease the frequency that Jester "Talks" to us during a flight? I know some thinks he talks to much already, but I do rather enjoy some of his funnier comments. This would allow us to select the amount of talking he does to our own liking. He could tell a joke or maybe a pretty detailed story about an Admirals daughter. I would like to see him do a little more on the call outs when in ACM mode... there is more info and frequency I would like to get from him rather than just six o'clock low. Closure speed, maybe BRA callout, etc. Thanks again for the best module in DCS. I bought the F-16 and just cant bring myself to get out of the Kitty! IronMike Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Hi, thank you for your suggestions. I don't think a slider will be likely, but we will see what we can do about the admiral's daughter, and also we are planning to introduce more situational awareness calls for WVR situations soon. RaisedByWolves Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 How about an option for more sarcastic comments.
AG-51_Sabot Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 How about an option for more sarcastic comments. Just let me know and I'll come RIO for you and give you all the sarcastic comments you'd ever want :D:D:D "There is an art … to flying. flameoutme Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 Although not exactly the same thing, getting Vaicom pro with the 'chatter' add-on adds a lot of, ah, chatter in the background that adds immersion yet does not distract. For something like $13 or $14 dollars its a bargain. And of course Vaicom pro does a lot more than that! Note: you also need "Voice attack" for it to all function. Still, a bargain.

I am all for the sarcastic comments! :megalol: I do have all the modules for VA. I have SRS, Discord, Teamspeak, Voice Attack, Chatter Pack, Vaicom Pro, AIRIO and the entire catalog of @dailey123 awesome profiles and packs. I just have not had time to actually make everything work together... I need to tear into everything and see how I should config the PTT on my throttle to work with all the stuff. I normally dont run discord and hardly ever use teamspeak at all (I think I uninstalled it). But I need to talk to someone who has everything working that can show me how they have their hotas setup for the Tomcat. River Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 The way jester talks to you is the worst part of the F 14. There is zero demand for such comedy I think. Same goes for the completely worn out cockpit, the Walkman and the Asteroids game. It just doesn't fit to the rest of that awesome module. My 2 cents.

IronMike Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 There is zero demand for such comedy I think. While I appreciate your opinion, and see where you are coming from, unfortunately (or thankfully from my point of view), this is not true at all. In fact it is quite the opposite. The Tomcat always has and always had huge "swag" and attraction in the popular culture, and with all the sometimes almost forced badassery, without comedy, it would border on either dry/heavy or ridiculous. For most of us it is deeply rooted in childhood memories that are inter-woven with culture that has been lived at its time and in parts was even insipired by it, a culture that always embraced comedy. I mean, let's not kid ourselves about Top Gun, but imagine Top Gun without all the punch lines and jokes... It's like showing its intro muted without Kenny Loggins. Which is why weaving JESTER into a figure himself enjoying pop culture that evolved at the time and around the Tomcat, is what imo actually roots and earths him and connects him with our memories and emotions. We will likely disagree on this, but that's ok. I'm from the generation that saw "Afterburner" in Timezone which blew me away. Now, to see a fully interoperable AI crew member performing highly skilled RIO tasks, some "swagger", and some nostalgia, wrapped up in one of history's iconic aircraft: well, I'm lost for words. I certainly feel my $AUDs have been well spent with the enjoyment I have received so far from this module, with more to come. Also a big for your communications throughout the forums, keeping us informed of development. Well done.. Cheers!
