When flying the spit today I noticed that on startup I could see the light of the fire reflecting on the fuselage but no actual flame. I have no mods installed so it should still be there.

I can confirm this, this exactly. Primed 14 times, there was an orange illumination on the cowling, but no actual flame. However, the fire from normal engine operation is still there. I can the regular exhaust flame, just not the overprime flames.

Same here, you get the reflection or the illumination on the skin of the spit but no flame.

Its gone yes, But if you use slow motion LALT+Z You then see the flames.
