Ironhand Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I was looking for something else when I ran across this article. Very interesting read. In case I'm not the only one who has never seen this article: Flying the Flanker by Ed Kolano (Marine test pilot). Andrew_McP Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I hadn't read that before, so thanks for pointing it out Rich. Now, someone remind me when ED are getting back to working on an AFM'd 27? What was that? Pardon? Oh... Andrew McP...still dreaming his life away ;-)
EvilBivol-1 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Thanks for the link. I believe he is mistaken about the control stick, which AFAIK is also adjustable for pilot height and reach. Not his fault though, the ground crew probably neglected to make use of that. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
thesystem Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 the stick has indeed a system to adjust it for your hand size.... DCS World, A10C, AV8B, M2k, FA18C, FC3, MIG21
A.S Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Beautifull Post..... Very Nice.... enjoyed reading it! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvEYoda Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 yeps, very nice S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
Frostie Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 'For years, I heard fellow pilots complain that the most difficult part of flying jets is getting them started, but once the chocks have been removed, they behave like any other airplane. Su-27 pilots can't make that claim. Its automation makes for an uncomplicated engine start and post-start process. Engine start up is a matter of placing the throttles in the idle position and tapping the start switches. The rest is automatic.' EvilBivol-1 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 the stick has indeed a system to adjust it for your hand size.... Yes, but I believe the entire stick can be adjusted for height and moved forward and back to adjust for pilot reach. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. Aeroscout Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Very nice. @frost1e: I was thinking the same thing when I read that. lol I also noticed how lock on isn't all that far off the mark either. (maybe it's just me) DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
