Neil Gardner Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 This is a good new model in a host of respects, it is technically ve y complete but there is one glaring inadequacy which has already been pointed out, ie, the cockpit textures. I’ve read that this is intended to be addressed in the next update but would someone be so kind as to tell me when it is hoped this will be. Thanks Neil Gardner.
Mad Dog 7.62 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Yes, the cockpit is horrible (well, the displays and panels are ok) and hopefully it gets fixed soon. Manuel_108 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Horrible? I think that's an overstatement. It needs some texturing work on the throttle and around the canopy and the cockpit floor needs better shading/shadows or whatnot. Apart from that it won't look radically different, the real one looks very two dimensional and dull as well. It's just the way it is.
shaHeen-1 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I wonder if instead of wasting all that effort and time for full fledged modules, devs should just build and sell cockpits instead.
exile2256 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Just needs sone finishing touches and lighting bug fixes, it’s pretty damn good as is.
DonJosh Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) i can't count, how often Deka said, "these cockpit texture are placeholders. Updated cockpit textures coming in the next Open Beta patch" https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=257050 So guys, take a search before starting a new thread with the same topic all over again ;) here a Known Issue list from Deka https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=256708 Edited December 6, 2019 by DonJosh
Chapa Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I was also surprised the first time in the cockpit and I had the same feeling than in the MB339. VR is not the best way to judge textures, for sure. By looking more in detail, textures looks great overall and are not basic textures. However, the cockpit feel like if it was difficult to know in which material are things with a tendency to look like hard plastics, not interacting with lights as it should giving a flat appearence. Hard to describe... at the end not bad at all but something missing to really enjoyed i7 12700k, RTX 3080ti, 64GB RAM, M.2 512Go, Quest 3

shaHeen-1 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 When ever deka finishes the work. No better answer than that. But it should be imminent. They know they lagged behind on this because their cockpit designer was in hospital for a month but they are back now ready to kick textured ass.
