I am trying to play DCS on the F-15. But the HUD seems to be zoomed all the way in.

I have been playing the a-10 no problems, so I don't think its a resolution issue?

Also, I couldn't find a specific f-15 thread?

I am attaching an image of the issue - thanks.

It’s in the Flaming Cliffs 3 section. Sure you’re not just sitting super close or have your view defaulted too close or you’re leaning in or maybe your seat is closer then it used to be if your using head tracking?

not sure - but I don't think so. What would I need to do to adjust that? I have tried zooming in/out using num / num *

how do I adjust the 'sitting super close'?

what does 'view defaulted too close' mean - and how would I adjust that?

I don't know how to adjust 'leaning in'?

I'm not using head tracking.

Move your head/ POV forward. You can click and hold the mousewheel button and drag the mouse around. Don't forget to save the view after that.

It kinda works - if I hold the mouse wheel down and adjust from there - but how do I save the view?

When I press NUM 5 to recenter after using the Numpad to track an enemy in a dogfight it just gets me back to the original issue.

How do I save it?

ALSO

why is it doing this in the 1st place? I have played this plenty of times before without this issue, but for some reason, on this install, it's coming up with this issue. It doesn't seem right to me?

Customising the Default View

1. Press Num5 to reset your view to the current default.

2. Adjust your view to what you want as the new default but do not use any snap view keys in the process!

3. Press RALT+Num0 - your new default view should now be saved.

Test it by changing your view, then pressing Num5 - your view should return to your customised default!

Why happened? Maybe you edited or pasted some config file? Installed some mod recently?

HUD is set to be right at one exact spot. If you move the head (POV) the HUD view changes to stay accurate size and point wise however you look at it.

I'm reviving this old thread because I just bought F-15C and have this exact same issue, specific only to this module (so it's nothing to do with my TrackIR or RL seat position etc). I have Zoom In/Out Slow mapped to my HOTAS, but zooming out only works until I release the button, at which point the view snaps back to tight-zoomed in on the HUD.

This doesn't happen in other modules (even other FC3 modules) with the default view, regardless of where the default view is set. In other words, in nm other module, if I zoom in or out from the default view with my HOTAS buttons, the view stays at the new zoom until I change it again.

@AeriaGloria, were you able to solve this?

Many thanks!

Check your bindings in F-15. In axis category there might be zoom binded to something you don't know yet and don't want it.

Thanks Draconus, that was it exactly! The "friction" axis on my TM Warthog Throttle was default mapped to zoom view and happened to be at full forward deflection (hence zoomed all the way in). You saved me a lot of time and frustration.
