So I've been playing the F-16 in mission builder to familiarize myself with controls and how to make everything work.

Something I've noticed is that after I drop bombs, I'm having to re-trim the aircraft. This can also happen after just flying around.

Now, I have a Cougar HOTAS, so my first thought was that the pots on the stick were finally giving up the ghost. But I wanted to post here to see if anyone else has experienced this. Saving me the cost of buying new sensors would be nice.

I'll go in-game and run a mission to upload the track here.

Roll and yaw trim requirements after change in stores configuration is normal for F-16. Perfectly symmetrical releases of stores should have essentially no trim change though.

Here's the track.

I did an asymmetrical load out just to see if this is what I should expect to see.

Taking off, you can see the immediate right-hand roll. You can continue to see the perpetual right-hand roll.

I thought the plane would auto-trim for load balancing.

Try this, load two identical bombs on the corresponding stations of both wings...set the release to pair or multiples of 2 and drop them and see if you have any trim issues. The Viper, like most of the other advanced flight model aircraft is subjected to weight and balance issues as in the real world...and this is a great thing!

If you drop two bombs at say 250Ft interval, you'll notice the aircraft roll to the second bomb side temporarily and after bomb number 2 is gone, you should be able to pull back to level without trimming the aircraft.

That’s correct. No auto roll trim in the Viper. The FCS will try and maintain 1G in pitch but once the jet is asymmetrically loaded it will need to be trimmed out in roll again

Ya have a rope with a 250 pound counterweight on a ledge. We drop the counterweight and you are holding the other end of the rope. :pilotfly:

Could the jet have an auto correct system ..sure but it does not.

I just do approx. 3 trim clicks the other way to counter.

Also I think we will get more steering cues on the mfd's in due time, so we can fly heads down. Like when we are in race cars, we don't look at the speed but what gear we need to be in for that corner (low 3. gear or high etc)

Been following a lot of ex pilots on youtube and comparing them to the new pilots and many new pilot just lack the feel.

All stuff have quirks and we need to adjust :)

Just remember this is a very high multitasking environment.

TRain train and your brain will find it 2nd nature and that is a awesome feeling when it happens :)
