v2tec
After a third... takeoff from the aircraft carrier. The F-18 climbs up and I can not fix it / balance it with trim. I tried to fix it by using the reset-trim and reset button before takeoff, but not effect. It looks like the trim is not recognized / activated. To I have to press a button in the plane to activate it? Joystick and HOTAS is fine. ________________________ ________ ______ ___ __ _ Win10 64 Pro, i7-6800K 3.4Ghz, 32 GB (DDR4), Asus Aorus 1080 TI WF, TrackIR 5 / RIFT, Thrustmaster Warthog, Fanatec Pedals, 55" oled 4k TV, Modules:A10C, KA-50, Huey, AV-8B, FA-18, F-16, NTTR, Persian Gulf _ __ ___ ____ _____ ______ _______ ____________
_mu110_
Check the FCS page and see if the control surfaces are actually pitching the aircraft up otherwise it might be some other issue. Check out my skins and mods on the User Files.
Shimonu
Isn't the pitch trim really slow for the Hornet so you have to press it a long time?
Flamin_Squirrel
Isn't the pitch trim really slow for the Hornet so you have to press it a long time? Not with flaps down. Which, I suspect might be the issue: OP is trying to launch without them. Flaps should be HALF for T/O.
randomTOTEN
Yes you will encounter all kinds of FCS problems if you take off with the wrong flap setting... I forgot about that.

boscoh
Flaps half for carrier takeoff. Trim between 16-18 depending on weight. Trim should reset when you bring the flaps up and that should fix your space shuttle liftoff. 3800X, X570, 32GB 3600, RTX 2080Ti, SSD, Odyssey+ VR
v2tec
Can I see aileron and elevator trim (values) on FCS or anywhere else? Looks like the elevator trim isn't working. Well, I focused on the flaps setting for the carrier takeoff, but the problem happened again. ________________________ ________ ______ ___ __ _ Win10 64 Pro, i7-6800K 3.4Ghz, 32 GB (DDR4), Asus Aorus 1080 TI WF, TrackIR 5 / RIFT, Thrustmaster Warthog, Fanatec Pedals, 55" oled 4k TV, Modules:A10C, KA-50, Huey, AV-8B, FA-18, F-16, NTTR, Persian Gulf _ __ ___ ____ _____ ______ _______ ____________
Ziptie
First, make sure “game mode” is not selected within main menu options of DCS. This setting has adverse effects on many aspects. Yes, you can see control surface values via FCS page. The FCS page will display leading and trailing edge flaps, along with rudder, ailerons and stabs. FCS reset (if load out has changed) Control surface wipeout Flaps to half T/O trim reset Adjust trim (nose up) so stabs show 16-18 on FCS page Hook up to cat Another control wipeout for good measure Reference FCS page do ensure all values are acceptable Launch Gear up after clearing deck Flaps up shortly after retracting gear Aircraft should behave as normal/desired.
