Well, that is what I did,

 

C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireLFMkIX\Cockpit\Textures\Cockpit_Spitfire_LFMkIX_Textures.zip

 

But this has no effect. I have to put those textures in the main Install.

(which by the way make the cockpit readable, with the ED ones the cockpit gauges are barely readable in low light conditions)...

Cockpit mods don't work like that. It needs to go into \Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\ Not Mods. And I believe it needs description.lua. And then you select them from options in-game.

 

You can download other cockpit mods and see how they did it.
