Habu_69 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 In 2.5.5 DCS, with the VR Option enabled, could be started in normal monitor mode with the suffix --force_disable_VR added to the Icon Properties Target. This modifier is not recognized by 2.5.6. Has anyone found a way to accomplish opening DCS in non-VR?
The_Nephilim Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 yes use Skatezilla's updater utility.. Works for me: --force_disable_VR You need to enable run as administrator on all shortcuts and .exe
Eagle_01 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 The no vr command line option works for me. My version openbeta 2.5.6.43503 I used Skatezilla's updater to update the openbeta Intel Core i7 7700, 16GB DDR4 RAM, Intel 660P PCIe NVMe, Zotac 2070 Super Amp, Oculus Rift S A-10C, FA-18C, F-14B, FC3, F-5E, F-86, AV8B, M-2000, Combined Arms, AJS37, F-16C, C-101, MiG-15Bis, MiG-19P, MiG-21Bis, L-39, P-51D, Spitfire LFMkIX, Bf-109, Fw-190 Dora, Fw-190 Anton, P-47D, I-16, SA342, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Ka-50
Chapa Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 The command works for me. Updated without Skatezilla but the normal way. The shortcuts have don’t changed with the update. As a reminder, the command is done with dcs.exe instead of dcs_updater.exe i7 12700k, RTX 3080ti, 64GB RAM, M.2 512Go, Quest 3
Habu_69 Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Got it. Works with DCS.exe, but not Updater.exe.
mosslman Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 Still no go for me, DCS.exe and DCS_Updater both set to run as admin and shortcut set as "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_disable_VR I don't use Skatezilla (should I?) since I prefer minimal stuff running. My version openbeta 2.5.6.49798

My version openbeta 2.5.6.49798 Use Skatezilla :) i close it as soon as i see the "logging in" screen . No overhead . I really don't get the "command line" bs . It offers no advantage but the opportunity for a syntax error . mosslman Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Nope, still just opens the first window and then dissapears, no message. I used to write stuff for MSDOS so quite happy with command line switches :-)
bobaz Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I usually start DCS with the oculus app, which I prefer until last update. I used Skatezilla's updater for somes things, & it works to start DCS. What changed with this update? How can I get back? Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K, Win10 64, 32 GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe M.2, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti, Realteus ForceFeel Gaming Pad, HP Reverb G2
