If its an issue of realism, I would rather have the Mig29A which seems to be modelled beautifully with FULL STARTUP PROCEDURES, RADAR MODES and so forth than a Mig 29SMT or Mig 35 which would be less accurate. Besides Im a fan of cold war 80s-mid 90s combat (Allied Force, Gulf War 1) which alot is known about rather than todays aviation which though impressive, almost nothing is actually realistically known about (try modelling Rafales, F 22s exact radar, start up procedures, radar modes etc with total accuracy). I believe Ed maybe thinking the same way given we are receiving the A model Apache and the original A 10 not the later variants. Adding these later along with SMT, Mig 35 would be great however but it would be sad to see this sim become survey when it has the potential to be an amazing study sim. By the way the reason the Ka 50 Blackshark can be modelled even though its so new probably is because it lacks radar and electro optical systems maybe less highly classified- just my 2 cents...

Was a Viggen ever modelled in a sim? Not that I know of, so it would be my choice. But I'd rather have the newer Gripen (the A model would do...) - the Swedes do make nice little Planes.

Considering realism, for me an educated guess at the most probable capabilities of modern avionics would totally do... It doesn't need to be 100%.

It's a game, after all.

thats because its the systems are tooo new.. ok ok 10yrs out of date but still...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Of course! Fighter Bomber had the Viggen (as well as F-111, Tornado, MiG-27 and a few more rarely simulated aircraft). Used to play this one a lot when I was younger :)

I'd like to see something new as there are plenty of sims/games with world most famous aircraft... so for that reason I voted MiG-23. Idealy I'd love a very higly detailed MiG-21 the most...

Viggen, just for variety, looks great(as does the Mirage 2000) but the Viggen is different, and dont know any modern sims that have it (Not a fan of MS sims so they dont count for me)

Still would love to see a flyable F-5 E, F-5 Tiger III or F-5 S/T - but thats just wishful thinking

Well the scenario takes place in the Caucasus and not in Central/Western Europe, so I voted for the MiG-29.

It should be one of the versions serving in the current Russian Air Force, along with the Black Shark.

Although my top favourite would be the upgraded Su-27SM currently introduced to the Russian Air Force.

soo the airforce deploys anywhere in the world.... so does the army and navy come to think of it.

My sugention for MIG-29

MiG-29SE FULCRUM

Unlike the MiG-29 basic version (version B), the MiG-29SE has the increased weapon load and longer range (with three external fuel tanks). Its weapons mix includes R-27T1 medium-range missiles with IRHH, RVV-AE missiles with an active radar homing head, R-27ER1 increased-range missiles with a semi-active radar homing head and R-27ET1 missiles with IRHH. The aircraft can be fitted with active ECM systems ensuring protection from radar detection, and weapons guidance aids, improved built-in check and training systems. The MiG-29SE can simultaneously engage two air targets.

or

MiG-29SM FULCRUM

The MiG-29SM is the further upgraded version of MiG-29SE aircraft with improved combat capabilities in the air-to-surface operating mode. It is equipped with precision guided weapons, such as Kh-29T(D) air-to-surface missiles and KAB-500KR TV-guided bombs, and the upgraded weapon control system that significantly improves the efficiency and makes the aircraft a really multirole fighter.

Hello everybody in the forum, it is my first time to communicate with you!

Firstly I think that Black Shark shows the way for the future of combat simulators, it is an oasis in the desert I would say...Second I vote Mirage-2000-5Mk2.This aircraft has made Greeks many times proud of it...Don't forget:a)the air to ground/sea capabilities (Exocet,Scalp,AASM) b) its electronic countermeausers (French are famous for this kind of electronic applications) c) Mirage is a delta wing fighter with exceptional flight characteristics.
